MSIs NovaPlus Wins Continued Acceptance, Best Western
Two-Way Interface to be Deployed
MSI software enhancements, turnkey solutions to complete two-way interface; Tucson Best Western
is first to deploy new NovaPlus hardware/software upgrade

PHOENIX MAY 11, 2006 Multi-Systems Inc. (MSI), the leading supplier of fully integrated property-management and marketing systems, completed a comprehensive survey of its NovaPlus PMS users which confirmed the value of the product and its benefits, and validated MSIs continuing strategy to grow the product and complete the Best Western Two-way interface no later than the end of 2006.  MSI purchased the NovaPlus PMS (a private-label solution for more than 450 Best Western hotels) last fall from Dallas-based Pegasus Solutions.

According to MSIs recent survey of NovaPlus users:

  • 75% are firmly committed to using NovaPlus or are open to moving toward commitment
  • 78% rated their support experience with NovaPlus since MSI took over as good or excellent
  • A majority believe that progress will continue to be made in completing the two-way interface
Tim Tiller, MSIs Chief Operating Officer, called the survey results encouraging and said, We thank everyone for their participation and want to be very clear of our commitment to the NovaPlus application and customer base.

It is our goal to grow the NovaPlus product and enhance our customers ability to profitably manage their properties, Tiller said. We are pleased to apply MSIs industry-leading technology and service paradigms to the NovaPlus product.

Rick Munson, MSI President, said two-way communication is key to any successful partnership, in every sense of the word. Therefore, he said, in order to aggressively synch development of the Best Western Two-way CRS interface with the needs and input of NovaPlus users, MSI initiated the survey to gather data and feedback.

We want our new NovaPlus family members to know that we are here for them, to address their concerns, answer their questions, and act on the input they provide to enhance our relationship, Munson said. We have a good understanding of the Best Western membership and its technology integration needs, being the first in the industry to develop a two-way interface between our WinPM solution and the Best Western CRS. We are committed to Best Western and to our new NovaPlus family.

Based on feedback from NovaPlus users, MSI announced that it has:

  • Reaffirmed commitment to completing a two-way interface to Best Westerns CRS
  • Developed a turnkey solution offering replacement hardware directly from MSI saving properties time and money with a One-Stop-Shop for Support
  • Plans to release new software enhancements to increase users return on investment
First NovaPlus Upgrade Announced

Using the turnkey solution mentioned above, MSI upgraded the Best Western Royal Sun, Tucson, Ariz., from one of the original versions of NovaPlus developed in 1998 to IBM equipment and the newest version of NovaPlus, 2.07.08.  Key features of the upgrade include:  credit card encryption, advanced reporting and multiple software enhancements.

MSI delivered exceptional service during the entire NovaPlus upgrade, said Neil Shah, Best Western Royal Sun owner. The software upgrade gave the added functionality we needed including improved revenue management, enhanced reporting and credit card encryption with complete security tracking.  Likewise, the new IBM equipment has enabled us to improve the speed and accuracy of our audit and back-up processes.  The sleek hardware design is esthetically pleasing and offers additional work space for our compact front desk area.  We are now positioned to implement the Best Western Two-way CRS interface following MSI's delivery by year end.

Munson gave kudos to the MSI team, saying: We congratulate our development and support teams for their speed in reaching out to our NovaPlus family. We look forward to utilizing the feedback we have gathered to grow and perfect the NovaPlus product to exceed our customers expectations. We anticipate that every hotel will be equally as happy with the NovaPlus upgrade as the Best Western Royal Sun is.
