Seattle Marriott Hotel Sea-Tac Airport Completes Transformation of 459 Guestrooms
as $15 Million Renovation Continues; Washington State's Fifth-Largest
Hotel Continues Multi-Year Renovation
.

SEATTLE - May 23, 2006 -- Highlighted by a complete makeover of its 459 guestrooms, the Seattle Marriott Hotel Sea-Tac Airport has completed the first phase of a $15 million, multi-year renovation.

The hotel's extensive renovation plan will also include a redesigned lobby area, fitness center, additional landscaping, and building and equipment upgrades that will be completed over the next several months.

"The initial response from our guests has been outstanding," said General Manager Sam Uchello. "Our entire staff is engaged in the complete repackaging of the guest experience."

Opened in 1980, the Seattle Marriott Hotel Sea-Tac Airport is Washington State's fifth-largest hotel (in number of guestrooms).

While the Marriott's close proximity to Sea-Tac has always attracted meeting and event planners as well as individual business and leisure travelers, the renovation takes the guest experience to a new level, said Ralph Goodman, director of sales and marketing.

By adopting bold new colors, fabrics and furnishings developed by the design team at Marriott International, each guestroom now has the look and feel of an upscale residence.

Luxurious bedding, featuring Marriott's signature Revive Collection, ergonomically designed furniture, fresh carpeting, draperies and wall treatments are incorporated into the upscale design theme. Baths are transformed by the addition of granite counters, oversized circular showerheads, crescent curved shower rods for a "roomier" shower experience and new fixtures.

Included in the renovation is the totally revamped, 1,300 square-foot Presidential Suite -- a three bedroom, four-and-a-half bath enclave with a stone fireplace and four televisions, including two 32 inch LCD television monitors.

Many of the guest rooms, suites and meeting rooms have views of the hotel's nine story, glass-roofed Northwest Atrium. Unique to major full-service hotel properties in the Puget Sound area, the atrium includes a heated pool, whirlpool, lush plantings and adjacent areas for business and leisure functions.

"No matter what time of the year, it's always spring in our magnificent Northwest Atrium," said Goodman.

Goodman said the improvements would enhance the Seattle Marriott Hotel Sea-Tac's position as an upper-tier destination for meetings, conferences and social functions. The hotel has more than 18,500 square-feet of flexible function space, including two ballrooms with seating for 400 and 500 guests, respectively.

"Our guestrooms, coupled with outstanding meeting facilities and Marriott's dedication to service, allows us to be very competitive not only with other airport properties but also with hotels and facilities in Seattle, Bellevue and across the state," said Goodman.

The Seattle Marriott Hotel Sea-Tac Airport is nestled on the hill just east of the airport, in a quiet suburban area away from traffic noise and congestion. It is located at 3201 South 176th Street.
