City, NJ, May 19, 2006---Kaaren Hamilton has been named Sales Manager at
the Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson. The hotels General Manager,
Andrew Davidson, announced the appointment of the industry veteran, who
brings more than 20 years experience in hotel and conference center management
to her new position.
An honors graduate of the University of Surrey in England, Ms. Hamilton worked at two of Britains leading properties: the noted Westbury Hotel on New Bond Street in London and at Pennyhill Park in the Surrey Countryside. Upon returning to the United States in 1986, she completed a management training program with Hilton Hotels and started her US career as a social catering manager. Her next ventue was with the German-owned Rafael Hotel group at Turnberry Isle Resort and Club. She was instrumental at this property, through its opening phase, as a Convention Service Manager. Ms. Hamilton was then recruited by New Jersey's only Five Diamond hotel, The Hilton at Short Hills. Here, as director of Meeting Services, and a member of the Executive Committee, she was responsible for all meetings and conferences at the property and was part of the management team that won The Hilton at Short Hills its coveted five diamonds. Ms. Hamilton spent five years as a private meeting planner and travel director for associations and corporate clients, before joining the Palace at Somerset Park, a new conference center and events venue then under construction in Somerset, NJ. She directed The Palace at Somerset Park's strategic planning and hospitality sales efforts, prior to the opening and was promoted to Director of Sales of the new facility in 2005. In her new position with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, Ms. Hamilton will
be responsible for corporate sales for one of the group's most visible
properties, the Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson. This striking
hotel is built on the water on New Jersey's Gold Coast, overlooking the
Manhattan Skyline. Easily accessible from both New York and New Jersey,
