NEW YORK - June 22, 2006 -- Morgans Hotel Group, Co., (Nasdaq: MHGC) a fully integrated hospitality company that operates boutique hotels in gateway cities under well-known brands such as Delano, Mondrian and Hudson, announced today two new appointments to the Company's senior management team. Tim Miller has rejoined the Company as Chief Branding Officer and Jennifer Nellany has been named General Counsel.

Mr. Miller served as Vice President of Brand Management and Openings before leaving MHG in 2004 to become founder and president of Alden Hotels, a collection of small luxury properties. Beginning his career at MHG's Royalton in 1989, Mr. Miller went on to lead the openings of Paramount, Delano, Mondrian, St Martins Lane, Sanderson, Hudson, Clift and The Shore Club. He also served as General Manager at several of those hotels during the course of his first 15 years with the Company. Mr. Miller previously worked in the entertainment industry as an actor on stage and screen in New York, Los Angeles and other cities in the U.S. He holds a B.A. of Fine Arts from the University of Cincinnati.

Mr. Miller returns to Morgans Hotel Group as the Company is accelerating its leadership within the boutique hotel segment. His branding expertise and intimate knowledge of the Company's culture and operations will enable the Company to enhance its strong position in current markets and build a greater presence in new markets, including its expansion into Las Vegas. Last month, MHG announced the acquisition of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, further supporting its commitment to Las Vegas. The Company previously announced its partnership with Boyd Gaming in the development of the Echelon Project, which will be anchored by two prominent MHG brands, Delano and Mondrian. In addition to Las Vegas, the Company has also announced its entry into Scottsdale with the acquisition of the new Mondrian Scottsdale.

Ms. Nellany joins Morgans Hotel Group from Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP in New York, where she was a senior associate. She joined the law firm in 2000, focusing primarily on mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions. From 1996 to 2000, Ms. Nellany was an associate in the tax department at Deloitte LLP. She received her B.S. in Accounting from the University of Delaware and she received her J.D. from Rutgers University and her LLM in Taxation from New York University.

In her role as General Counsel, Ms. Nellany will oversee the Company's legal function, including ensuring compliance with the corporate governance requirements of the SEC and NASDAQ and assisting in the preparation of MHG's periodic reports and public filings. Additionally, she will be actively involved in the Company's transactions and handling day-to-day legal issues. She has also been appointed the Corporate Secretary.

"Tim and Jennifer are important additions to our senior management team," said W. Edward Scheetz, President and Chief Executive Officer of MHG. "At this point in our growth strategy, they each bring relevant experience and expertise that will be critical to our long-term success.

"Tim's long-time role in building our unique brands and his passion for their value in the marketplace represent a real commitment to who we are as a company, and I am confident that his energy and creative talents can help take us to the next level. And as a new public company, Jennifer's wide range of experience in corporate law, including securities and mergers and acquisitions transactions and corporate governance issues, will be integral to ensuring the stability and professionalism that is absolutely essential to maintaining the confidence of the investing public."
