HONOLULU, OAHU, HAWAII - April 6, 2006 - John G. Marshall has been
named general manager of the Te Tiare Beach, an Outrigger Resort, on Huahine
Island in French Polynesia, announced Barry Wallace, executive vice president
of hospitality services for Outrigger Enterprises, Inc.
Marshall is a veteran hotelier well-known throughout the South Pacific region having served as general manager and director of operations for a variety of resorts, including Pacific Explorer Hotels (Vanuatu), Captain Cook Beach Hotel (French Polynesia), Bali Hai Hotels (French Polynesia) and Societe Hoteliere de Taharaa et Bora Bora (French Polynesia). He also spent time in American Samoa, where he was executive assistant manager and food & beverage manager for the Intercontinental Hotel Pago Pago. Other hospitality positions included catering manager for the luxurious Kahala Hilton Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii, as well as military club management in San Diego. Marshall, who grew up in Hawaii, attended Michigan State University's Hotel School on a full scholarship. He speaks English, French and Tahitian and is an active Rotarian. "We are delighted to have found someone so qualified for the Te Tiare Beach Resort," said Wallace. "His knowledge of the industry, the area and the local people are all great assets that we know will make him very successful in this position." The Te Tiare Beach Resort is an exclusive luxury resort with 41 overwater, beachside and garden air-conditioned bungalows, each equipped with fans, television, mini-bar refrigerators, hair-dryers and coffee makers. Telephones and Internet access are available. A private motorboat carries guests from a dock near the airport to the resort's floating lobby entrance where the staff provides a personal greeting to each guest. |
