IH&RA CEO David McMillan recently met with the Vice President of
the Republic of Argentina, Dr. Daniel Scioli, and leaders from three hotel
and restaurant associations of Argentina: Mr. Alberto Alvarez Argüelles,
President of the Federation of Hotels and Restaurants Enterprises of the
Argentine Republic (F.E.H.G.R.A), Mr Juan Mirrena, Vice President of the
Association of Hotels of Tourism, and Mr. Ricardo Boente President of the
Association of Hotels, Restaurants, and Cafes of Capital Federal, to begin
preparations for this event which promises to be truly memorable�with Argentina
pulling out all the stops for IH&RA.

New in 2006 - Business and Education come together! To kick off the
Congress in Buenos Aires on Friday 27 October IH&RA will host its first
ever Hospitality Human Resources Development Forum. Professors and administrators

and independent operations will come face-to-face for an intensive one-day
session to dialogue and present current hospitality industry trends and
implications for education, training and Human Resources Development.

The International Hotel & Restaurant Association (IH&RA) is
pleased to announce the 2006 IH&RA Human Resources Development Forum
with the theme: Education and Industry Partnerships in Hospitality Industry.
The Forum will take place on 27 October 2006 in Buenos Aires, Argentina,
in conjunction with the 43rd IH&RA Congress 26-29 October 2006.
In recent years, the global hospitality industry has witnessed remarkable
growth and a corresponding need for development of human resources capacity.
IH&RA foresees the need for increased cooperation and partnership between
educators and the industry-at-large in order to build human resource capacity
and at the same time promote the sustainable development of the hospitality
industry. This one day Forum is intended to foster an open dialogue and
exchange of ideas between practitioners and academia on critical success
factors for human resources development, training and education in global
hospitality industry.
