Jinjiang Inn Company, Based in Shanghai, Appoints
Christopher Sheldon as Vice President of Operations
.
April 18, 2006 - The Jinjiang Inn Company is China's fastest growing hotel brand.  Jinjiang Inn operates in the economy hotel sector and is a subsidiary of Jinjiang International.  The company's brand and development strategy requires the appointment of an experienced hotel operations executive and through the services of HVS Executive Search has appointed Christopher Sheldon as Vice President of Operation to contribute to leading their brand strategy forward.

Founded in 1996, through the vision and leadership of Xu Zurong, Jinjiang Inn opened its first economy or value hotel in 1997.  The company now has 66 hotels and a further 50 in the pipeline, with plans to add up to 100 hotels per year.  The portfolio consists of a balanced mix between owner/operator and franchising partners.  By 2010 there will be 600+ Jinjiang Inns across China, but that is not all.  Mr. Xu has the vision to make Jinjiang Inn an international operator, as the volume of outbound Chinese traveler increases and looks for familiar domestic brands overseas.  "This is quite simply the very best, the first and biggest economy chain in China," says Mr. Xu, the company President.

Christopher Sheldon, a British American commenced on March 1st 2006.  He has been involved with economy scale hotel development and hotel operations throughout North America and he describes Jinjiang Inn's development plans as truly awe-inspiring.  Mr. Sheldon is currently absorbing the culture of his new environment, both the Chinese culture and the very important company culture.

Mr. Sheldon brings a lifetime of hotel experience with him from both the UK and the USA. He graduated from the University of Surrey's Hotel Management School, worked for a leading USA franchisor, Holiday Inns International followed by a top US hotel management company American General Hospitality Inc. before launching his own small hotel business in Virginia and Washington DC. Recently Mr. Sheldon also spent a year with the fastest developing hotel company from the N.E. US, the Procaccianti Group, which has helped him understand rapid growth and current international hotel branding standards.

Jinjiang Inn is based in Shanghai, where they have their largest presence and also operate locally renowned Chinese restaurants called Jinjiang Chefs. However very soon there will not be a province that has not heard of this well managed, consistent, value hotel chain.  The Chinese middle classes are spreading their wings and traveling either to explore the country or to do business.  This is not unlike their American counterparts of the mid 20th century when US hotel chains built their systems as the highway system and the country expanded.

Xu Zurong, president of the Jinjiang Inn Company, said; "Christopher will be an asset to our company and we are very pleased to welcome him joining us. His in depth knowledge of the economy hotel brands as well as his extensive experience in the economy hotel industry makes him the ideal candidate to his current position. We have no doubt that Christopher will soon adapt to the new environment and make his contribution to our company."
