.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (March 28, 2006) -- With the construction of its luxurious new The Grand Del Mar Resort well underway, Manchester Grand Resorts has promoted Thomas J.W. Voss from managing director to president.

In his new role, Voss will oversee all operations including hotel and residential resort development for the companys four upscale resort properties, including The Grand Del Mar, a luxurious resort destination, which is being built adjacent to the beautiful 400-acre Grand Golf Club in North San Diego County.  Slated for completion in mid-2007, the property will ultimately feature 261 beautifully appointed guestrooms, plus a total of 39 partially- and wholly-owned Villas.

According to Manchester Grand Resorts owner and founder Douglas Papa Doug F. Manchester, Voss will also spearhead operations for the Manchester Grand Hyatt on San Diego Bay; downtown San Diegos Marriott Hotel & Marina; and the Whitetail Club & Resort on Payette Lake in McCall Idaho.

Toms role in our company is key, as he is overseeing our growing collection of high-end resort properties, Manchester said.  With more than 25 years of experience, he is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about all aspects of the hospitality industry.  We know he is the ideal person to direct and grow our resort operations.

Working for Hyatt Hotels, Voss first met Manchester when the Hyatt Regency in San Diego (now the Manchester Grand Hyatt) opened in 1992.  Voss served as executive assistant manager and director of food and beverage for the 1,625-room hotel until 1998, when he was promoted to general manager of Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead and Hyatt Regency Greenville in South Carolina.  In 2004, he returned to San Diego as general manager of Manchester Grand Hyatt.  Manchester Grand Resorts hired him away from Hyatt in April 2005 as managing director for the growing company.

Voss, born and raised in Hamburg, Germany, grew up working in his familys oceanfront golf resort and has since had an industry career that has encompassed hotel marketing, operations, staff development and guest services.

Prior to his Hyatt experience, Voss was with Starwood Hotels for seven years, working at upscale properties in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

Fluent in English, German and French, Voss earned a bachelor of science degree in hotel administration from the University of Kiel Germany, and also completed graduate studies in hotel adminstration at Cornell University. He lives in the Carmel Valley neighborhood of San Diego with his wife and two children.
