 Hilton Chongqing Appoints Sven Isberg as General Manager,

Fintan O�Doherty and Andreas Bruck as Director of Operations
and Executive Chef Respectively

China and Singapore, 30 March 2006 � Hilton Chongqing is pleased to announce the appointment of Sven Isberg as the business hotel�s new General Manager, Fintan O�Doherty and Andreas Bruck as Director of Operations and Executive Chef respectively.

Sven Isberg

Sven Isberg assumed the role of General Manager on 1 February 2006.  He will be responsible for the smooth operation of the hotels� 437 guest rooms and suites, ensure compliance with all Hilton International operational, financial and human resource policies as well as oversee the planning and implementation of all business strategies for the hotel.  �Hilton Chongqing has emerged as the market leader among business hotels in the city and I am looking forward to working closely with the team to maintain our competitive edge as the first choice of hotel for corporate and leisure travellers.� said Sven Isberg, General Manager of Hilton Chongqing.

Born in Hamburg, Germany, Sven commenced his career at the Ramada Renaissance Hotel in Hamburg.  Thereafter, he worked with Hyatt in the USA, before joining the Hilton family in 1986.  Sven began his Hilton career as Food and Beverage Management Trainee at the Munich Park Hilton, and rose through the ranks to become Food and Beverage Manager of Hilton Istanbul in 1991.  In 1993, Sven was appointed Food and Beverage Manager for Hilton Seoul, and moved to Hilton Taipei in 1995, as Executive Assistant Manager.  In 1999, Sven took the helm of Hilton Beijing, becoming the youngest Hilton General Manager at the age of 35.  Prior to assuming leadership at Hilton Chongqing, Sven was the General Manager of The Parmelia Hilton Perth.    

Familiar with Asia and China in particular, Sven moved to Chongqing with his lovely wife, Iris, and their son, Justin.  He added �My family and I are pleased to make Chongqing our home.  I am keen to be involved in the local business community and hope to contribute actively to the growth and success of the city.� 

Fintan O�Doherty

Fintan O�Doherty joined Hilton Chongqing as the new Director of Operations on 2 January 2006.  

Born in Sligo Republic, Ireland, Fintan graduated with an MBA from Durham University Business School.  Fintan had worked in various hotels in Ireland and Ukraine, and spent the last 16 years in hospitality industry in United Kingdom.  Fintan joined Hilton International in September 2001, as the Director of Operations at Hilton Manchester Airport.  Prior to joining Hilton Chongqing, Fintan was working at Hilton London Green Park.

Commenting on his new appointment in Hilton Chongqing, Fintan said �I am very excited to be part of this winning team, as the hotel has received many industry accolades, including awards from the Chongqing Tourism Bureau.  Having been recognised as the Best Business Hotel in Chongqing by Business Traveller magazine, I will endeavour to ensure smooth operations in order to create the best hotel experience for our guests.� 
  
Andreas Bruck

As Executive Chef of Hilton Chongqing since 1 January 2006, Andreas Bruck has been cooking up a storm in the kitchen, experimenting with new recipes to tease the taste buds of guests.  He leads a team of 144, to ensure excellence in the cuisine and service offered by the four restaurants and bars within Hilton Chongqing.  

Born in Germany, Andreas started his career in the hospitality industry in 1980 and joined Hilton International in 1991 as the Sous Chef of Hilton Leeds in Great Britain.  Andreas has over 13 years experience with many Hilton hotels in Turkey, including Hilton Mersin, Hilton Izmir, Hilton Parksa, Hilton Istanbul and Hilton Antalya.  

The appointment of Sven Isberg, Fintan O�Doherty and Andreas Bruck herald an exciting time ahead, as Hilton Chongqing celebrates its fifth year in China.
