Matthew Davis Named Senior National Sales Manager and Eddie Emeric
as Senior Manager, Trade Shows for New York City's

New York, NY (March 10, 2006) - NYC & Company, New York City's convention and visitors bureau, today announced the addition of two new staff members to help support meeting and convention business in New York. Matthew Davis joins NYC & Company's Convention Sales Department as Senior National Sales Manager, and Eddie Emeric joins the Sales Department as Senior Manager, Trade Shows.

As Senior National Sales Manager, Davis will be the bureau's liaison to corporate meeting and event planners nationwide, and showcase the diverse meeting and event venues, hotels, and services that enhance the New York City experience. He will also represent NYC & Company at industry trade shows and sales missions including the Motivation Show and MPI's World Education Conference. 

Davis' background includes significant sales and marketing positions at the St. Regis Aspen, Hilton Airport and the Marriott City Center in Salt Lake City, and most recently as General Manager of the Inn at Solitude in Solitude, Utah. During his tenure in Salt Lake City, he worked as part of the Olympic Management Team and developed close relationships with the Salt Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau and with Marriott National Accounts. 

As Senior Manager of Trade Shows, Emeric will streamline all NYC & Company trade show activity including coordinating client events and managing show logistics. Emeric will work with both the Tourism and Convention Sales departments to manage NYC & Company's participation at more than 20 domestic and international shows a year, including Pow Wow, ASAE, and WTM. 

Emeric has served in key sales positions at Columbia University and MC² in Las Vegas, and most recently as Trade Show/Event Account Executive at MICE/North America in New York. He has worked with a range of organizations to provide full service trade show event planning, from designing the event to marketing and managing it.

Matt and Eddie are seasoned professionals whose experience in sales and marketing will support NYC & Company's efforts to attract major meetings and conventions and ensure that groups have the kind of effective and memorable events New York City is known for." 

New York City welcomed a near-record four million visitors to seminars, tradeshows, corporate meetings, or conventions in 2004, well above the 3.6 million in 2003. Spending by these delegates rose to $2.5 billion in 2004, up 17% from 2003.
