LAKE ARROWHEAD, Calif. - March 27, 2006 -- Lake Arrowhead Resort, the largest hotel in this Southern California mountain community, will soon be known as Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa following a $12 million redesign. The property's dramatic transformation will include redesigned guestrooms, meeting and public spaces, a re-imagined restaurant and bar and a new spa. The resort will remain open during construction and renovation is scheduled to be completed in phases over the next eight months.

Located 90 miles east of Los Angeles and nearly a mile high in the San Bernardino Mountains, Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa has been welcoming guests since 1982, and is now being managed by Gemstone Resorts International.

With interiors designed by Intra-Spec, a Marina Del Rey design firm, Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa will offer a mountain lodge with a resort feel, achieved with the use of warm colors and natural materials such as granite and pine, indigenous to the area.

Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa will offer a total of 173 guest rooms, comprised of 141 rooms, 31 suites and one 1,178 sq. ft. Presidential Suite. This lakefront property offers guests private beach access to one of Southern California's most exclusive lakes. New amenities will include a 32-inch swiveling flat panel TV, Essentiel Elements body and hair care products and new Anichini linens.

The new restaurant, Bin 189, will be designed by The Puccini Group, a leading San Francisco based restaurant design firm. Under the direction of Scott Blackerby, director of food & beverage, Bin 189 will highlight the best of "American California cuisine," featuring fresh local foods in addition to an extensive wine list. The sleek glass bar will allow for an unrestricted view of the lake.

The conference rooms at Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa will be redesigned to accommodate groups ranging from 10 to 450 guests, with decor featuring a coordinating palette of evergreen, gold and russet tones. In addition, one of the most unique aspects of the new design will be the state-of-the-art boardroom. Located directly above the lobby, the boardroom suite will include meeting space for up to 20, in addition to a private wet bar, lounge, business center and restroom facilities.

The new spa will offer a comprehensive menu of spa treatments, including massages, body treatments, facials, and hair and nail care available in 10 treatment rooms, one couples' room and one VIP couples' suite. The fitness center will offer new fitness machines and free weights and will feature floor to ceiling windows that allow for a panoramic view of the lake. A variety of fitness classes will also be available, ranging from aerobics and kickboxing to Pilates and yoga.

Located at 5,100 feet above sea level in a stunning and distinctive alpine setting, Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa has been welcoming guests since 1982. The hotel features 173 rooms and suites offering stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountain community. This lakefront property, offering guests private beach access to one of Southern California's most exclusive lakes, is currently undergoing an extensive $12 million renovation. Nearby activities include shopping and dining just steps away at Lake Arrowhead Village, horseback riding, hiking and year-round ice-skating on an Olympic size rink.
