Dusit's Brand, Royal Princess Hotels & Resorts, Contracts for
First Resort Property in Koh Chang, Thailand
March 13, 2006 - The latest addition to Royal Princess Hotels & Resorts, named Princess Resort, Koh Chang, has completed nearly 70 percent of construction to date. The new resort will be the first of its kind for Royal Princess, occupying 150 metres frontage on the beachfront of Ao Bai Lan, with a total of 96 rooms and suites.

Duncan Jamieson, VP-Development for both Dusit and Royal Princess Hotels & Resorts, said, “This is Royal Princess Hotels & Resorts’ first resort property, since all our existing hotels have city locations. Koh Chang is the ideal site being the second largest island of Thailand from Phuket, and there are only a few 5-star resorts on the island. Princess Resort, Koh Chang is especially an exciting project for us, and will enable us to show to great advantage what we are able to do in building up a resort.”

Princess Resort, Koh Chang is expected to become a major attraction due to the development of Trat Airport, government initiatives to promote Koh Chang as a major tourist destination, existing ferry from island-to-island taking just 20 minutes each way, increasing flight frequencies from Bangkok Airways, and so on.

Among the major tourist attractions are Koh Chang National Marine Park occupying 80% of the island, teeming with fascinating wildlife and marine life, not to mention diving and numerous water sport options.

Dusit Thani Plc is the owning company of Dusit Hotels & Resorts, Royal Princess Hotels & Resorts, and the newly-launched brand extension of Dusit, D2hotels + resorts.

Bailann Resort Co., Ltd. is the owning company of Princess Resort, Koh Chang.

Dusit offers 11 deluxe accommodations in major destinations throughout Thailand, and its overseas portfolio includes the Philippines, Indonesia, the U.A.E. and Myanmar.

Royal Princess Hotels & Resorts, established in 1989, serves the rapidly growing need for first-class, moderately priced accommodation.  There are presently nine hotels, all located in primary and secondary destinations throughout Thailand.
