TORONTO, ON � March 13, 2006 � Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) is pleased to announce that the first full-service Marriott hotel in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront, is now open for business. 

Located at 1919 Upper Water Street West in Halifax, this six floor property features 352 guest rooms, 15 meeting rooms, two on-site restaurants and an on-site spa. The property is owned and operated by Westerkirk Harbourfront Limited Partnership.

The Halifax Marriott Harbourfront is ideal for business and social occasions, offering 15 meeting rooms with a total of 17,000 square feet of meeting space�with three ballrooms, two boardrooms and three flexible breakout rooms.  Technological capabilities include high-speed Internet access in all meeting rooms and comprehensive audiovisual facilities.  A 24-hour business centre is also available to meet guests� needs.

The hotel boasts two distinctive restaurants.  44 North offers guests unique seafood creations with a spectacular harbourfront view and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.   Room service is also available.  The Fife and Drum Pub and Eatery offers Scottish hospitality, live entertainment and traditional pub fare.

All guestrooms feature Marriott�s new Revive � bedding with plusher mattresses, softer sheets and more pillows.  Replacing the traditional hotel bedspread is a down comforter nestled inside sheeted duvets, which will be freshly laundered for each new guest.  The stylized bedding features 300-thread-count, cotton-rich, white top and fitted bottom sheets and is accented with euro shams, a decorative bed scarf and bolster.  Other in-room amenities include a workspace with ergonomic desk and chair, high-speed wireless Internet access, telephone with data port and speaker phone, coffee maker, iron with ironing board, and cable TV with premium channels. 

The hotel�s Interlude Spa offers a wide range of services, including body and facial treatments, manicures, pedicures and waxing.  Appointments are required for all services.

Casino Nova Scotia is next door to the hotel, accessible by a covered above-ground walkway.
