 Hilton Concord's $1 million+ Renovation
Focuses on Tech and Recreation

CONCORD, CA (January 19, 2006) – Curtain-raising its extensive renovation this fall, the Hilton Concord has tripled the size of its fitness center, expanded and added more robust connectivity to its business center, and added luxurious new bedding to its guestrooms.

The Hilton Concord, a leading business and leisure destination in San Francisco’s East Bay region, is at the center of Northern California’s fastest-growing economic region. It is just minutes by BART or freeways from Walnut Creek, Oakland, San Francisco and the Silicon Valley and at the gateway to the Napa Valley and Sonoma wine regions.

“With our renovations, we have established a new high standard in our area for both commercial and leisure travelers by creating a resort-like atmosphere in the East Bay hills where you can also do business,” says General Manager David Cantando. “We can easily—and stylishly—support our customers’ tech and recreational needs.”

The new fitness center has new treadmills, elliptical machines, stationary bikes and weight stations. Just a few steps away, under swaying palm trees, the newly renovated pool area features comfortable new deck furniture and was just resurfaced. The expanded business center is conveniently near the lobby and contains computers, a copier, fax machines and high-speed Internet access.

“Our new guestroom furnishings provide both the comforts of home and the luxuries of vacation. And our award-winning main restaurant—the Grissini Trattoria and Wine Bar—is the equal of anything you’ll find in San Francisco or the wine country for entertaining your clients or for your own special occasions,” adds Cantando. Best known for its authentic southern Italian specialties and extensive wine list offering more than 50 varietals, Grissini’s is a dining experience not to be missed.

The hotel’s 323 guestrooms and six luxurious suites feature new bedding, pillow-top mattresses and goose-down duvets.  Each guestroom and suite offers two-line speaker phones with data ports and voice mail, high-speed Internet access, complimentary weekday newspapers, coffee makers, irons and ironing boards, and cable television with free HBO, CNN, ESPN, and on-command video and Pay-Per-View movies.

The Hilton Concord has a high-tech function space of over 19,000 square feet, and guests are also welcome to utilize the hotel’s in-house audio/visual team to help streamline their presentations.

“The Hilton Concord did a great job with our five-day event,” says corporate meeting planner Brad McCullough, “Overall, what really stood out for this event was the service. Everything ran very smoothly. Inevitable issues were resolved quickly and professionally. The staff was receptive to our changing needs and was able to accommodate us in all that we asked.  We had a great event.”

Near the hotel, there are many natural parks with mountain and valley views, entertainment venues and stylish shopping areas. The best of the area is at your fingertips whether it’s Napa Valley wine tasting for adults or Six Flags Waterworld in Concord for the kids. The Hilton Concord is near three golf courses, as well as many other recreational activities.
