Construction Hampton Inn & Suites in Jackson, TN |
| JACKSON, TN � January 13, 2006 � Tennessee business developers
announced today that a new Hampton Inn & Suites hotel is under construction
in Jackson, TN. The hotel is part of the Campbell Street Shops development
in the southwest quadrant of the Campbell Street Exit 83 on Interstate
40, Jackson�s most recent I-40 exit. The hotel will be built across the
highway from the new upscale food store, Old Medina Market, at 150 Campbell
Oaks Drive. It is the first new construction hotel in Jackson since the
year 2000.
Vista Host, a Houston-based management company for upscale limited feature hotel properties, has been selected as the management company for the new hotel. �We are proud to be involved with the opportunity to bring a first-class newly constructed hotel to the Jackson market�, said Michael V. Harrell, Chairman and CEO of Vista Host, and equity partner of the new development. �The hotel is right at the heart of the new development going on in Jackson along the Interstate 40 corridor,� commented Mr. Harrell. The partners have teamed up with architects Bounds and Gillespie of Memphis, TN and the Harrell Contracting Group of Jackson, MS as the general contractor. The civil engineer will be Rusty Norville with Civil Engineering Solutions in Dyersburg, TN. Jackson�s newest hotel is expected to add approximately 30 permanent jobs to the Jackson economy once the hotel is opened and construction is complete. Construction of the Hampton Inn & Suites is scheduled for completion in late 2006. When completed, the hotel will have 54 guestrooms and 30 fully furnished suites. The hotel will feature 21st century telecommunications technology with fiber-optic wiring and high-speed Internet access that will be complimentary. Daily hot complimentary breakfast with rotating items will be a staple of the new hotel. The hotel will be built with all the amenities of the Make It Hampton initiative including interior corridors, upscale furnishings, and of course the signature Cloud 9 Bedding package.
