PARSIPPANY, N.J. (Jan. 26, 2006) Cendant Hotel Group International today announced an alliance with Cornell University to provide its international franchisees and their hotel employees with specially priced classroom-based and online hospitality management courses.
Traditional classroom courses will be offered through the Cornell Universitys School of Hotel Administrations Professional Development Program, and Web-based courses will be accessible through eCornell.

eCornell provides online, instructor-led courses in hospitality management, management and leadership skills, food and beverage management and human resource management.  Among the courses to be offered are Leading People to Higher Performance, Marketing Planning and Making Capital Investment Decisions.

Cornells Professional Development Program is a classroom experience that brings together senior mangers from around the world for a series of three-day, high-intensity courses.  Participants may choose from three convenient locations: the Cornell campus in Ithaca, N.Y.; Management Centre Europe in Brussels; or Cornell-Nanyang Institute in Singapore.

In todays changing and fast-paced environment, we want to ensure that our franchisees and their hotel employees are equipped with the most up-to-date programs and knowledge, said Daniel Dannenmann, Cendant Hotel Group International vice president of training, quality assurance and organizational development.

Speed to market and superior-quality programs are of critical importance, he said, noting that Web-based training allows training programs to be distributed quickly around the world.  We are delighted to be associated with Cornell Universitys School of Hotel Administration, one of the worlds most highly regarded lodging schools.

Tom Kline, director of executive education at the Cornell School of Hotel Administration, said the schools mission is to serve the hotel industry by providing knowledge through research and teaching.

By providing special pricing for Cornells distance learning courses as well as the Professional Development Program, Cendant Hotel Group International franchisees and their employees will have easy access to world-class management education and focused interaction with other hotel professionals from around the world, he said.  Franchisees benefit from being part of an organization that is able to provide outstanding value through Cendant Hotel Group Internationals proactive relationship with Cornell.
