MIAMI, Feb. 14, 2006 � Desires Hotels�, the boutique division of Tecton
Hospitality, today announced that it has named Henny Schaeffer general
manager of the award-winning 40-room Hotel Astor in Miami Beach, Fla. Designed
by architect T. Hunter Henderson in 1936, the Hotel Astor is one of the
most sought out boutique hotel on South Beach.
Schaeffer has more than 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry
and has worked in Europe, the Caribbean and the Middle East. Prior
to joining Tecton, Schaeffer was the director of residences with The Ritz
Carlton in Coconut Grove, Fla., where he was responsible for overseeing
two, 218-unit condominium towers. Before this, he was a general manager
of the Sonesta Hotel & Suites in Coconut Grove, Fla., where he was
responsible for the successful opening of this condominium hotel.
