Galliard and Frogmore Property Company Limited Partnership Appoints
Park Plaza Hotels Europe to Operate Two New Hotels Being Built
on South Side of River Thames in London
.
October 4, 2005 - Park Plaza Hotels Europe today unveiled its plans for two spectacular new deluxe developments due to open in 2008 and 2010.

These striking new hotels are being developed and owned in partnership with Galliard and Frogmore Property Company Limited, both of which have signed long term management agreements with hotel operator Park Plaza Hotels Europe, which will operate the hotels under the internationally recognised Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts brand.

The hotel sites are both located on the south side of the River Thames, the first to open being the deluxe County Hall Park Plaza - in Addington Street, opposite County Hall - just minutes from Waterloo International station and famous London landmarks such as the London Eye, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey.

Architects and designers have been careful to ensure that the available space encapsulates a plethora of facilities such as a relaxing residents lounge, café, bar & restaurant, gymnasium as well as meeting rooms.

The hotel will boast 395 luxury guestrooms, suites and penthouses of which more than half will have fully equipped kitchens. The individually designed, fully air-conditioned guestrooms and suites will include bespoke furniture, the latest in-room technology, flat screen televisions, wireless Internet connectivity and the rooms on the upper floors of the hotel will afford striking views of the River Thames and stunning city skyline.

The second hotel, opening in 2010, will be one of the largest conference hotels to open in London for several decades - Westminster Bridge Park Plaza offering more than 930 guestrooms and extensive, impressive conference facilities for up to 1,000 delegates or more.  The hotel will be the largest and most prestigious of the Park Plaza Hotel & Resorts worldwide portfolio.

The deluxe Westminster Bridge Park Plaza will be located at the end of Westminster Bridge directly opposite the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. The site is currently occupied by one of the last eyesores of London, which is thankfully being demolished to erect this striking 14-storey hotel landmark.  Plans already reveal a truly unique spectacular atrium void with a 14-storey high glazed canopy roof imposing a double-height reception.

Westminster Bridge Park Plaza is set to become one of the key players in the London conference scene, offering a wide range of meetings and events facilities including the main ballroom which will be able to seat up to 1,000 delegates for dinner, rivalling the capacity of some of Londons 5-star hotels.

Furthermore the hotel will offer an extensive health spa with gym, indoor swimming pool and fitness area, 2 restaurants, an impressive bar with a stunning vista of the Houses of Parliament, executive business lounges, business centre and retail outlets.

All guestrooms will have similar state-of-the-art features as the adjacent County Hall Park Plaza, including the fully equipped kitchens in many of the rooms.

With these two exciting additions to its hotel portfolio, Park Plaza Hotels Europe will operate more than 2,200 guestrooms in central London, making it one of the larger players in that market.

In addition to the recently opened 4-star deluxe Riverbank Park Plaza and the 5-star, all-suite, Plaza on the River Club and Residence, (both located on the Albert Embankment) Park Plaza Hotels Europe operates the Victoria Park Plaza in Westminster and the Sherlock Holmes Hotel on Baker Street.

Other Park Plaza Hotels in the United Kingdom are located in Belfast, Cardiff, Leeds and Nottingham and the company also operates hotels in key European destinations such as Amsterdam, Berlin, Budapest and Antwerp.
