Airport Hotel Reflagged Marriott, Undergoing $10 million in Improvements |
WASHINGTON, Nov. 28, 2005 - Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE: MAR) announced today that the Wyndham Pittsburgh Airport hotel in Coraopolis, Pa., has been re-flagged as the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott. Located at 777 Aten Road, the 316-room hotel will undergo a comprehensive $10 million renovation early next year. The property is owned by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. and is operated by Interstate Hotels & Resorts. Were very excited to be part of the Marriott family of hotels, and we look forward to welcoming our past guests and introducing new visitors to this wonderful hotel, said Tom Hardy, general manager, Pittsburgh Airport Marriott. Upon completion of the renovation, our customers can expect Marriotts new luxurious bedding and fresh design, and we will continue to provide an outstanding level of service that our guests have come to trust and rely on. Beginning in February 2006, the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott will undergo a comprehensive renovation to its exterior, public space, fitness center and signature restaurant, Meritage Grill. Guest rooms will be completely refurbished and will feature Marriotts new, luxurious bedding with plush mattresses, soft sheets and multiple pillows. Replacing the traditional hotel bedspread is a down comforter nestled inside sheeted duvets, which will be freshly laundered for each new guest. The bedding features 300-thread-count, cotton-rich, white top and fitted bottom sheets, which are among the finest and softest sheets of any global hotel chain. The stylized bedding is accented with euro shams, a decorative bed scarf and a bolster. Other in-room amenities include a workspace with ergonomic desk and chair, high-speed wireless internet access, telephone with data port and speaker phone, Bath & Body Works products, curved shower rods, coffee maker, iron with ironing board, in-room safe, and cable TV with premium channels. Just outside the Pittsburgh International Airport, the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott is the only full-service hotel immediately adjacent to the Point retail and commercial center, which features a myriad of dining and shopping destinations. Downtown Pittsburgh is only 20 minutes away. The Pittsburgh Airport Marriott offers a total of 12,000 square feet of meeting space with 18 flexible breakout rooms. The hotels signature restaurant, Meritage Grill, offers American cuisine and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. In addition, a Starbucks retail shop serving freshly brewed Starbucks coffee will be added to the lobby. |
