Outgoing President, Régis Bulot Served for 18 years |
| NEW YORK � November 2005 � In an overwhelming demonstration
of its international flavor, Relais & Châteaux members today
elected Jaumé Tapies as the new President, their first non-French
President in its fifty-two year history. Taking place during the Association�s
International Congress in Geneva, the election, resoundingly won with a
vote of 88 %, heralded a new era for Relais & Châteaux.
Outgoing President, Régis Bulot, President for the past 18 years, commented, �Jaumé Tapies is a consummate hotelier and professional who has been heavily involved in the Association for over 10 years. I am confident that he will successfully meld our commitment to the highest quality with the changes necessitated by rapidly evolving technology and competition.� Jaumé Tapies, 37 years old and fluent in 7 languages, owns El Castel in Spain, a Michelin-rated property nestled in the Pyrenees. He has spent 12 years on the Board of Directors, the past 8 as its Secretary.
