Paul Tunakan Appointed Director of Sales & Marketing for the Omaha Marriott

MCLEAN, Va., and OMAHA, Neb., Dec. 19, 2005 - Crestline Hotels & Resorts, Inc. today announced the appointment of Paul Tunakan as Director of Sales and Marketing for the Omaha Marriott. The hotel is owned by Highland Hospitality Corporation (NYSE: HIH), a Virginia based, self-advised lodging real estate investment trust (REIT), and is managed by Crestline Hotels & Resorts.

Mr. Tunakan joins Crestline from The Gateway Hotel and Conference Center in Ames, Iowa where he was the Director of Operations. He brings more than 20 years of hospitality industry management experience to his new role having also held senior positions with La Belle Management in Mount Pleasant, MI, as well as various management positions with Marriott Corporation, including Sales Manager and Catering Manager at the Omaha Marriott under its previous ownership.

Mr. Tunakan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University and attended graduate school for business administration at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He has been a member of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) since 1998 and has served as president of the Heartland Chapter of MPI. He is a board member of the Ames Community Theater and Recreation Services and a past Board Member of the Ames Kiwanis Club. Mr. Tunakan can be reached at [email protected].

The Omaha Marriott
The Omaha Marriott offers 299 guest rooms and suites for business and leisure travelers. The hotel is within walking distance to the Westroads Mall, two miles from Boys Town, and two miles from the Miracle Hills Golf Club. It is also within a short driving distance to the Omaha International Airport, the Civic Auditorium, the Qwest Convention Center, the Old Market, and Council Bluffs Casinos. The hotel offers 14 meeting rooms with 12,000 square feet of conference and banquet space, as well as a lounge, and The Omaha Chophouse which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
