California Lodging Industry Association and the Asian American Hotel
Owners Association Jointly Producing the California Lodging Expo®
and Conference November 8-9, 2005  in Santa Clara

 SACRAMENTO, CA � September 22, 2005 � CLIA -- California Lodging Industry Association and the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) are joining forces to produce the California Lodging Expo® and Conference to be held November 8-9, 2005, at The Westin Santa Clara in Santa Clara, CA. The joint venture was created to meet the needs specific to lodging property owners and operators running businesses in California. 
 
�California, with more than 5,500 lodging properties and unique laws, regulations, and guest services necessitates a conclave that serves our industry,� says Rick Lawrance, CLIA President and CEO.
 
The one-day Lodging Expo® will highlight nearly 100 vendors and suppliers who specialize in serving the hospitality industry. This is a one-day show exhibiting the latest in products and services on November 9, 12:00 p.m. � 5:00 p.m.

Two certificated classes required by law will be offered:
 
Sexual Harassment Training Seminar � Wednesday, November 9,  9:00 a.m. � 11:00 a.m.
The deadline to comply with the new California law and get this training is fast approaching! CLIA�s labor law consultants, Carlton DiSante & Freudenberger, LLP, will be conducting a 2-hour sexual harassment training to keep employers in compliance with the requirements of AB 1825, which requires that supervisory staff be given two hours of sexual harassment training by January 1, 2006. ($75 Members/$100 nonmembers).
 
ServSafe Class & Exam � Tuesday, November 8,  9 a.m. � 4:00 p.m. 
In cooperation with the California Restaurant Association (CRA), a ServSafe Class & Exam class will be offered Tuesday, November 8. ServSafe meets the established statewide training standard for food handlers. California law requires re-testing and re-certification of competence in Food Safety and Sanitation every three years. This six-hour review session is followed by an accredited examination and provides foodservice operators and food handlers with a certificate that is valid for three years in California.  To register, visit www.calodgingexpo.com, ($100 members/$170 nonmembers).
