Succeeds Fred Honda, Who is Retiring
|HONOLULU – June 27, 2005 – Halekulani Corporation, which owns and manages
both the Halekulani and the Waikiki Parc Hotel on Oahu, Hawaii, has engaged
Janis Clapoff to serve as General Manager of Halekulani. Ms. Clapoff,
who will join Halekulani as of August 1, will be responsible for directing
all aspects of day-to-day management and operations of the 455-room property,
which is known for its consummate service standards and unrivaled guest
experience. She succeeds Fred Honda, who is retiring from the position
he has held since July 2000.

A seasoned industry professional, Ms. Clapoff has nearly three decades of experience in hospitality management and was one of the industry’s first-ever female general managers of a major hotel. Before joining the Halekulani, she served as Managing Partner of the exclusive Simpson House Inn, a five-diamond property in Santa Barbara, CA. During the preceding 10 years, she held the position of Managing Director of the iconic San Ysidro Ranch. From 1989 through 1992, Ms. Clapoff served as Hotel Manager of the Four Seasons Santa Barbara. Prior to that, she held the positions of Vice President and General Manager at the Topnotch Resort and Spa in Stowe, VT. She also served as General Manager for the Sheraton Park Avenue between 1986 and 1988. Ms. Clapoff also held management positions at various properties including the Four Seasons Inn On The Park in Toronto and Four Seasons Le Quatre Saisons and the Hyatt Regency, both in Montreal.
