to announce the signing of a contract to supply systems to the new Forbury
Hotel and Cerise Restaurant & Bar, Reading, which opens early in 2006.
Visual One has been chosen to supply the Integrated Property Management System, Point of Sale, Sales & Catering, Web Bookings Engine, Sales Ledger and interfaces. About the The Forbury Built in 1911 as the Shire Hall for Berkshire County Council from a design by Warwick & Hall in Queen Anne style, this listed building at 26 The Forbury is most impressive and one that lends itself effortlessly to become a luxury hotel. Red bricked with Portland channelled quoins, alter � type cast iron lamp standards flank the dozen imposing steps leading to the portico entrance with stately columns. The interior follows the same fashion, with grand impressive features, wide corridors with impressive vaulted ceilings and the original wood panelled council chamber. Located just 5 minutes walk from Reading�s busy rail station and no more than 150 yards from The Oracle shopping mall. Adjacent to Forbury Square the hotel stands in a tranquil area with fine examples of architecture, old and new, the Crown Court and the Abbey ruins with Forbury Gardens directly to the front. With no direct passing traffic the hotel has a quiet setting away from the hustle and bustle of the city. 24 bedrooms and suites, over 4 floors, have been designed to suit the needs of the single business person and also the couple seeking a refuge from their own personal �rat race� where they can escape into a luxurious and stimulating environment to unwind. Each bedroom has a king size double sprung divan bed, with the finest Egyptian cotton sheets and huge sumptuous pillows.
