BALTIMORE, Md./BETHESDA, Md., August 11, 2005 — Urgo Hotels, a major developer, owner and operator of upscale hotels, today announced the grand opening of the 188-unit Marriott Residence Inn Baltimore Downtown/Inner Harbor.  Located at the corner of Light St. and Redwood St. at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, it is the first upscale extended-stay hotel in the downtown area.

“Response to the hotel has been exceptional,” said Kevin Urgo, senior vice president.  “The hotel appeals to a broad cross-section of guests due to its proximity to the city’s tourist venue, the convention center, medical centers, financial institutions, and commercial center.  It also offers a full-service hotel experience featuring spacious studios and one- and two-bedroom suites, which offer great value.  Business travelers on extended assignment enjoy the home-like setting, the lobby restaurant and lounge and the work-support amenities, such as high speed Internet access, large work desks and the library and business center.  Families relocating to Baltimore, sightseeing at the Inner Harbor, attending a sporting event or visiting relatives undergoing medical treatment, like the additional space not found in nearby conventional hotels, and our complimentary breakfast buffet.”

Centrally located in the Inner Harbor, the hotel provides easy access to the Harborplace Shopping Mall, the National Aquarium and the Port Discover Kids Museum.  The property is in close proximity to numerous eating, drinking and entertainment establishments, including the ESPN Zone, Planet Hollywood, and the Hard Rock Cafe.

The hotel lobby includes the upscale Hearth Room that provides a comfortable seating area where guests can enjoy a complimentary hot breakfast, served daily, and an evening cocktail reception.  The lobby area will feature a restaurant and lounge.

The hotel’s two meeting rooms provide approximately 1,500 square feet of meeting space to handle groups ranging in size up to 120 people seated.  “The hotel is located in the heart of the business district and just three blocks from the Baltimore Convention Center, and the Courthouse, which makes us the ideal hotel to handle smaller meetings, either in conjunction with conventions or by themselves,” said Patrick Miner, the hotel’s general manager.

The Residence Inn’s other amenities and services include a fitness center, a marketplace/sundry store, a library and business center and valet parking.  The hotel participates in the Marriott Rewards program, which enables members to earn their choice of points toward free vacations or frequent flyer mileage in their preferred airline program.
