HMB Management Opens Homewood Suites by
Hilton Edgewater--New York City Area

EDGEWATER, N.J. - Aug. 2, 2005 -- Homewood Suites by Hilton, a leading national brand of upscale all-suite, residential-style hotels introduced in 1989, has announced the grand opening of the Homewood Suites by Hilton Edgewater--New York City Area hotel, in Edgewater, N.J., the brand's first New York City metro-area property. The 122-suite hotel is owned by Atul Patel, Chairman and CEO of HMB Management.

The ribbon-cutting event was attended by Jim Holthouser, senior vice president of brand management for Homewood Suites by Hilton; Bill Duncan, vice president of brand marketing and sales for Homewood Suites and Patel.

"A dominant brand in the extended-stay segment, Homewood Suites by Hilton fills an important niche in the type of products the Hilton Family of Hotels offers to its guests," Holthouser said. "We are excited that we can now offer all the upscale amenities of Homewood Suites--like spacious suites, complimentary high-speed Internet access, a 24-hour business center and fully equipped kitchens--to travelers visiting the New York City area."

The Homewood Suites by Hilton Edgewater--New York City Area property is located just four miles from the George Washington Bridge and is close to the Lincoln Tunnel, providing convenient access to Manhattan, New York City's four other boroughs and northern New Jersey. The hotel offers great value to both business and leisure travelers. The suite rates start at $179 for a short-term stay in a 440-square-foot studio suite, compared to the average rate of $216(a) in a traditional Manhattan hotel room.

"The Homewood Suites by Hilton brand also has proven to be highly successful from a development perspective," Holthouser said, "and we are delighted to team up with owner Atul Patel to celebrate such an important milestone in the brand's history as opening in the New York City market."

"The need for hotels that cater to guests staying five or more consecutive nights greatly exceeds the available supply," Atul Patel said. "Our new facility was created specifically to meet the special needs of extended-stay travelers, who need to feel at home on the road."

The eight-story mini-rise hotel completes the development of the exclusive mixed-use Promenade at City Place, an upscale shopping, dining and residential experience. The hotel is the newest and most upscale all-suite hotel added to New Jersey's famed Gold Coast, part of the area's transformation from a former industrial center to a residential and shopping destination.

The Homewood Suites by Hilton Edgewater--New York City Area features residential-style studio and one-bedroom suites with fully equipped kitchens and spacious sleeping and living areas large enough for work, study, entertaining or relaxing. In an effort to help guests be more productive, the Hilton Family of Hotels custom designed its own clock, featuring one of the easiest-to-set alarms. What's more, the new clocks also feature a connection cable for MP3 players and other portable music devices including the Apple iPod(R). The hotel offers complimentary high-speed Internet access, two-line phone sets and a large working desk with a comfortable ergonomic chair.
