|DALLAS (August 25, 2005) — Double Diamond Resorts today announced the
addition of Chris Tomboni as Executive Chef at The Cliffs Resort on Possum
Kingdom Lake. Tomboni joins Double Diamond with a background of 5-Star
culinary experience. Among Tomboni’s culinary stops was Dallas’ Adolphus
Hotel, where he worked alongside Master Chef Jean Blanchett in the 5-Star
French Room. From there, Tomboni was promoted to the position of
Opening Executive Chef for The Adolphus’ sister property, La Playa Beach
Resort, in Naples, Florida.
Tomboni’s love for the state of Texas brought him back to Lakeway Inn and Conference Center on Lake Travis, where he spent four successful years as Executive Chef. It was during this time that he adopted a son and decided to spend a year with his family.
A graduate of Hocking College Culinary School in southeastern Ohio, Chef Tomboni’s passion for cooking started at age 8, when he and his father would wake up at 4:00 am to can 120 quarts of fresh tomatoes, which were hand picked from the family garden. It is his love for family and his passion for cooking that has fueled his creativity and inspired his cuisine throughout the years. His cuisine is a blend of Southwest and Caribbean fares, and he enjoys the delicate balance between the two.
“Cooking is my life, and I have always enjoyed it,” says Chef Tomboni. “I enjoy blending complementary flavors, such as Southwest and Caribbean. Some of my fondest moments are in the kitchen, and this continues to inspire my cuisine.”
