Harrisburg, PA, (May 17) - Six hospitality industry awards were presented during the Pennsylvania Tourism & Lodging Association¹s (PTLA) Spirit of Hospitality Awards Dinner. J. Mickey Rowley, deputy secretary of the Pennsylvania Tourism Office officiated the awards presentation. The awards dinner was the culmination of the PTLA Annual Conference & Trade Show held at the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center.

Awards were presented to the following recipients:
 

Karly Watson, Temple University, Student of the Year;

Christina Bower, Woodloch Pines Resort, Guest Relations Award;

Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, Community Service Award;

Phillip Murray, Historic Gettysburg Hotel, General Manager of the Year;

Mary Mullen, Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel, Department Manager of the Year; 

Mariola Carpio, Holiday Inn Conference Center, Lehigh Valley, Lodging Employee of the Year.


Making the decisions in choosing this year¹s recipients were members of the PTLA¹s Human Resources Committee, led by Kendra Ruhl, chairperson and director of human resources at Hershey Resorts.

The PTLA exists to advocate, support, promote and enhance the tourism and lodging industry within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We seek to be inclusive and provide lobbying, education and professional development opportunities, information and other resources as well as value-adding services to our members to ensure their�and the industry¹s�ongoing success and growth.
