Prior to joining Refad Hotels & Resorts, Hermann held various management positions for prestigious and world famous hotel brands, including Hilton International and ITT Sheraton Hotels & Resorts for more than 15 years.
His numerous positions with Sheraton included management spells at Sheraton’s in Lisbon, Tehran, Istanbul, London and Dubai. He was appointed General Manager for the Sheraton Dhaka in 1983.
A native of Austria, Simon is a graduate in Hotel and Tourism Administration of the Berlin Hotel School. He has received numerous awards for his successes in the tourism and hotel industry including the prestigious "Sheraton Presidents Award" for outstanding performance. He was also nominated for the "ITT Harold S. Geneen Award". Furthermore he was awarded the Golden Medal of Touristic Merit by the Government of the Republic of Portugal during his time at the Cliff Bay Hotel in Madeira.
The then President of Austria Kurt Waldheim awarded him the "Golden Insignia of Merit of the Republic of Austria" for his contributions to the Hotel Industry. He is a qualified CHA "Certified Hotel Administrator" from the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Motel Association.
