Gary Robinson to Head up the Flagship Restaurant
Mezzanine in the Grosvenor House, West Marina
Beach, Dubai by Le Meridien

.

(Dubai, May 2005):  The former head chef to HRH The Prince of Wales is the latest in a string of big-name appointments to the upcoming Grosvenor House, West Marina Beach, Dubai by Le Meridien.

Gary Robinson will head up the landmark hotels flagship restaurant Mezzanine, following seven years in the Royal household.

As chef patron at Mezzanine, Robinson will be fusing the finest of British cuisine with French flair to create a menu that reflects the heritage of the hotels name. The restaurant is scheduled to open this summer.

Robinson said: To those who argue that Dubai isnt as sophisticated as London, Paris or New York, we will prove them wrong. Dubai is certainly a melting-pot of the finest international influences, and we are creating a menu to answer to the discerning community, as well as hotel guests.

Located on the second floor of the hotel, Mezzanine will be a mix of open-plan and private dining, as well as a terrace with stunning views overlooking the Dubai Marina.

As befits the role of a chef patron chef / manager Robinson will mix a hands-on approach in the kitchen, with face time with the guests. Feedback from the guests will be incorporated back into the menu, and classic dishes will be re-invented for the new Dubai audience.

The restaurant, predominantly white in décor with glass and chrome, has an unusual quilted leather wall and neon green glass panels to add splashes of colour and texture.

The hotel will have 217 sea-facing rooms, while the 205 apartments will offer stunning marina views, and three of the signature touches will be plasma televisions in all rooms, personalised butler service and 24-hour room service, in addition to the use of beach and pool facilities at the adjacent resort.

The top 11 floors will be dedicated to the Grosvenor Club, premium executive accommodation whose guests will also have access to the 44th floor dedicated lounge that will provide an unrivalled observation deck over Dubai.

London-based Le Méridien is a global hotel group with a portfolio of more than 130 luxury and upscale hotels in 56 countries worldwide.
