The addition of Irene and Bill marks the completion of the Americas regions upscale development team, said Kirk Kinsell, SVP and chief development officer, the Americas, IHG. I began realigning this team at the beginning of 2005 with the appointment of Chris Pfohl, to the position of VP, Development, the Americas, Western region, and Craig Mueller, to the position of VP, Development, the Americas, Northeast and North Central regions, both of whom are focusing on InterContinental Hotels & Resorts and Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts opportunities.

Prior to joining IHG, Irene was the VP, Development, St. Regis, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, where her primary responsibility was to grow Starwoods St. Regis brand in the Americas.  Irene started her career in hospitality at Starwood Hotels & Resorts in 1996, where she served as the Director of Development, EMEA, until 2000.   In 2000, Irene left Starwood to serve as senior associate, Mergers and Acquisitions Group for BNY Capital Markets, Inc., but returned to Starwood as VP, Development in 2002.

Bill rejoins the IHG family from Hospitality Solutions LLC, where as founder and principal, he delivered consulting services to hospitality industry investors, owners and developers, as well as management companies in business development and strategic planning.  From 1999 to 2004, Bill served as SVP, Acquisitions and Development, Interstate Hotels and Resorts Company, the nations largest independent hotel management company. Having these four industry veterans will allow us to respond to the increased demand for our upscale brands - InterContinental Hotels and Crowne Plaza Hotels - through management and franchising, as well as selective acquisitions, said Kinsell.
