Wyndham Investing $16.5 million in Upgrades to
its Puerto Rican Casino Properties
Appoints Four Industry Veterans to Lead Casino Operations

.

DALLAS - April 18, 2005 -- Continuing to deliver on its brand philosophy of listening and responding to guest needs, Wyndham International, Inc. (AMEX:WBR), the largest casino operator on the island of Puerto Rico, is investing $16.5 million into a series of gaming upgrades to its world-renowned Puerto Rican casino properties, designed to enhance the entire guest experience. The resorts are: Wyndham El Conquistador Resort & Golden Door(R) Spa; Wyndham Condado Plaza Hotel & Casino, which offers the largest number of slot machines on the island; and the Wyndham El San Juan Hotel & Casino, the largest casino on the island.

"Gaming is an essential part of the guest experience at our Puerto Rican properties, which makes it crucial for Wyndham to be at the forefront of industry standards," said Mark Hedley, executive vice president and chief information officer, Wyndham International. "By introducing new technology, casino features and executive leadership, Wyndham is able to satisfy the needs and desires of our customers while maintaining a healthy and productive business."

technology, Wyndham is now able to properly identify, track and establish stronger relationships with the players that occupy its casino floors on a daily basis. One of the biggest benefits of this technology is the implementation of Wyndham's new casino players club, Players ByRequest, which is the only frequent players club valid at multiple locations in Puerto Rico. Members will enjoy personalized rewards across Wyndham's San Juan-area properties, such as complimentary room nights, meals or rounds of golf. Those who register as Players ByRequest members will also automatically receive the personalized benefits of Wyndham ByRequest(R), the company's guest recognition program that allows members to choose from more than 300 options, including welcome snack and beverage and pillow type, to personalize their guest room.

In addition, operational processes such as surveillance, accounting and marketing are also optimized and made more efficient by automating these time-consuming tasks.

Wyndham's Puerto Rican casinos are also being remodeled with tangible player benefits such as new carpeting, seating and slot machines. Guests can also receive faster payouts by redeeming tickets for cash from cashless gaming machines, rather than returning buckets of coins to the casino cashier.

To manage these new processes, Wyndham has brought in four veterans of the gaming industry to join Wyndham's casino management team:

Susy Bell

As vice president of casino operations, Ms. Bell is responsible for all aspects of the Company's casino gaming operations, including marketing and player development, table game operations and slot operations. In this role, she will drive a host of new development initiatives including a new player loyalty club called Players ByRequest, which offers members personalized rewards across all Wyndham casinos as well as membership in the company's guest recognition program, Wyndham ByRequest. She is also responsible for growth strategies for the junket market, creating marketing and sales promotions that will help Wyndham capture an even greater portion of local market share, and for ensuring that the properties comply with all regulatory requirements in Puerto Rico.

Ms. Bell has more than 20 years of experience in the casino gaming industry, having served in a variety of senior level executive positions for Harrah's Entertainment where she played an instrumental role in opening and managing the successful operations of both domestic and international casinos. Most recently, Ms. Bell served as a management consultant for Morphosis Consulting where she helped clients develop a variety of business skills in the areas of leadership, marketing, personal development, goal setting, customer service and performance management.

Peter Getzler

Peter Getzler joins Wyndham as director of casino marketing and player development, responsible for all aspects of casino marketing, special promotions, incentive programs, and driving membership from new and existing customers through Players ByRequest. He will also promote casino day-trips to the island by developing partnerships with cruise lines that port in Puerto Rico.

With a 25-year-career in the casino gaming industry, Getzler has served in a variety of management positions with Harrah's Entertainment where he was responsible for guiding strategic marketing and player development initiatives as well as managing day-to-day gaming operations. Most recently, Mr. Getzler served as director of casino credit for the Sands Casino Hotel in Atlantic City.

Rick Yuhas

As director of table game operations, Rick Yuhas is responsible for ensuring guests have a positive gaming experience. Additionally, he will work to ensure that table dealers demonstrate the highest levels of professionalism through development and education opportunities. He will create learning opportunities for customers as well - offering in-room videos and educational sessions on property.

Prior to joining Wyndham, Yuhas held a number of senior level gaming operations and security management positions with leading gaming entertainment companies and organizations such as Harrah's Entertainment, Station Casinos, and the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Luis Del Valle

Luis Del Valle joins Wyndham as director of slot operations, responsible for all activities associated with the company's slots business, such as game design, game mix by denomination, floor configurations, machine maintenance and guest loyalty promotions. In this role, Del Valle will develop strategies and implement analytical and scientific solutions that impact customer "buy" decisions and subsequently drive successful slot operations - an area of casino gaming highly regulated by the government.

Del Valle has more than 15 years of experience in the Puerto Rico casino gaming industry, having most recently worked for the Puerto Rico Tourism Company where he was responsible for certifying and regulating all electronic gaming devices in island casinos. He has also served in casino gaming roles for Bally Gaming, Inc. and the Puerto Rico Tourism Company.

"Wyndham has assembled a solid management team with an impressive track record of producing results in the complex and highly competitive casino gaming industry," said Mark F. Hedley, executive vice president and chief information officer. "The combined knowledge, skills and leadership of Susy, Pete, Rick and Luis, coupled with the innovative technology investments we are making to draw new players, build stronger relationships and improve our customers' overall gaming experience, will give us the advantage we need to succeed in the Puerto Rico gaming market."
