San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau Names
Makiko Cronin Online Marketing Manager and
Cynthia Yuen as Markeging Programs Coordinator

April 21, 2005 - Makiko Cronin has been promoted to online marketing manager and Cynthia Yuen has been named coordinator of marketing programs and promotions at the San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau (SFCVB).

�These new assignments are part of our ongoing efforts to further develop our online marketing strategies to promote and sell San Francisco,� said Diane DeRose, SFCVB vice president of marketing.

As online marketing manager, Cronin will plan and oversee online programs to generate increased online revenue for the SFCVB through hotel bookings, ticket sales, etc.

Cronin joined the SFCVB in July 2004 as marketing coordinator.  Previous positions include e-marketing manager for the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort & Spa and director of marketing services for Atlantis Adventures Hawaii.

As marketing programs coordinator, Yuen will oversee Visa Preferred Travel, an innovative, value-added program which provides more than 240 offers at select San Francisco Bay Area hotels, restaurants, retailers, attractions and sightseeing companies.  The program was launched in 1996 through a cooperative marketing agreement with the Bureau and Visa USA, Inc.  She will also coordinate other SFCVB member-based marketing programs and assist with sponsorship implementation.

Yuen has held positions with Inmate Calling Solutions, WorldRes in San Mateo, CA, and Enterprise Rent-a-Car.

Yuen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality/Business Management from San Francisco State University.

The San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau is a private, not-for-profit organization whose mission is to market the City as a leisure, convention and business travel destination. With nearly 1,700 members, the SFCVB is the largest membership-based tourism promotion agency in the country.
