Wyndham Starts Multi-Million Dollar Renovation
at the Carmel Valley Ranch

.

CARMEL, Calif. - April 6, 2005 -- Carmel Valley Ranch - A Wyndham Luxury Resort located in the artistic mecca of Carmel, Calif., has recently begun a renovation project that will make over the property's 144 guest suites. Slated for completion by the end of the year, the multi-million dollar project also includes plans to revive prime public areas, putting a fresh face on this landmark resort.

"The renovation underscores our commitment to continually enhancing our guest experience, providing travelers with accommodations that expertly combine the Monterrey Peninsula ambiance with our high standard of luxury and service," said Jay Litt, senior vice president of operations for Wyndham International. "The new room design will set us apart from our competition, redefine guest expectations and revive our position as one of the landmark properties in Central California."

The highlight of the renovation will be the ranch's extensively transformed guestrooms. All of the resort's spacious one-bedroom suites will be updated with new features, with the majority of the suites revamped from top to bottom with new carpeting, wall coverings and fresh paint; new custom furniture; stylish light fixtures; new luxury bedding, pillows and duvets; and specialty wall prints reflective of the local Carmel art scene. Guestrooms will continue to offer a uniquely Carmel ambiance, featuring cozy living rooms and bedrooms, cathedral ceilings, wood-burning fireplaces and wraparound decks, with a selection of rooms offering private whirlpool spas on the decks.

"The catalyst of the renovation was to create a fresh experience for our guests, reminiscent of a California Ranch, and using the resort's awe-inspiring natural surroundings as inspiration," said Litt. "Rooms will be brighter, bolder and more inviting, incorporating textures and materials evocative of Central California's wild beauty."

Housed within the main lodge, the resort lobby will also enjoy a makeover, retaining its comfortable country estate setting while enjoying the addition of multiple antique accents, specialty woven rugs, artwork, fresh wall textures and new oversized furniture.

Set on 1,700 acres of rolling hills, and located just six miles from Carmel-by-the-Sea, Carmel Valley Ranch - A Wyndham Luxury Resort features luxury suites with breathtaking views of the Santa Lucia Mountains. Along with the onsite Pete Dye designed, championship 18-hole golf course, the resort features tennis courts, a fitness center, two pools, six whirlpool spas and a variety of exceptional in-room spa services and treatments.
