Bettina Landt Appointed General Manager at The Wauwinet,
a Relais & Châteaux Property on Nantucket Island

Nantucket, Mass. � March, 2005 � Nantucket Island Resorts, a collection of premier properties on Nantucket, has appointed Bettina Landt to oversee all hotel and restaurant operations at The Wauwinet, Nantucket�s only Relais & Châteaux property. Formerly, as co-innkeeper, Bettina had shared the duties with her husband Eric Landt who was recently named general manager at the Jared Coffin House in Nantucket Town.  As General Manager, Bettina assumes all management responsibilities at The Wauwinet. Under Bettina�s leadership, The Inn was named to the 2005 Conde Nast Traveler Gold List and scored the highest rating in Massachusetts in Travel + Leisure�s Top 500 list.

Prior to her role at The Wauwinet, Bettina Landt served as co-innkeeper of The Castle At Tarrytown (Tarrytown, NY), a luxurious Relais and Châteaux property overlooking the majestic Hudson River and its historic Valley.  During her tenure, The Castle at Tarrytown was accepted into the prestigious Virtuoso Association, a leading provider of a range of hotel booking services to the corporate, exhibition and professional association sectors; joined the American Express Platinum Program; and received numerous awards.

Known for their outstanding work within the rarefied world of luxury properties, Bettina and Eric Landt took over the role of innkeepers at The Wauwinet in 2002.  During the past two years, the Landts have successfully combined the finest European traditions with superb modern amenities to deliver uncompromising service and an exceptional guest experience at The Wauwinet. 

The Wauwinet is widely viewed as Nantucket�s finest inn with 35 individually decorated guest rooms and cottages, an award-winning restaurant, a 254-foot dock, and a wide range of complimentary recreational activities.  It also offers a thoughtful array of innovative services and amenities that bespeak a warmth and intimacy only possible in the most gracious of inns.

Since the complete restoration of this historic property in 1988, The Wauwinet has been lauded by food and travel media and is the recipient of numerous awards and distinctions. The inn was featured on the Travel Channel in a �Great Hotels� segment in 2004; Condé Nast Traveler named The Wauwinet to its 2004 Gold List; and National Geographic Traveler named the inn one of the �Great Inns of the Northeast.�

Also Peter Twachtman has been named  TOPPER�S General Manager.  Mr. Twachtman will be responsible for budget development, marketing, facility management and team development for The Wauwinet and TOPPER�S.

Mr. Twachtman earned his Master�s in Hotel Restaurant Travel Administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a Bachelor�s degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern Maine.

TOPPER�S has been repeatedly honored as Nantucket�s highest rated restaurant by ZAGAT Survey.
