WiFi with Industry Leaders - Wireless Solutions Company to host North American Symposium on WiFi and Mobility Computing in Hospitality in April |
Atlanta, GA March 31,
2005 The North American WiFi Symposium, scheduled for April 20-22 in
Sandestin, FL is shaping up to be as robust as the future uses of wireless,
according to event host, StayOnline.
As the nations early innovator and market leader in WiFi hospitality solutions, StayOnline announced earlier this month that the company will host a first-of-its-kind hospitality WiFi Symposium at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. As the agenda has taken shape, were very pleased to have some of the top wireless innovators on board to share their knowledge with our guests, said Antonio DiMilia, President and CEO of StayOnline. Companies who will be sending their wireless experts to speak include major sponsor EDS, Boingo, Cisco, Renasis, SpectraLink, Sun MicroSystems and Vocera with topics ranging from upcoming innovations in VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) to handheld devices and applications for the hospitality industry. The response weve gotten from participating companies indicates to us that the time was ripe for such a gathering of the brightest minds in hospitality wireless, said DiMilia. Attendance at the Symposium is by invitation only and includes sponsored lodging, meals, seminars and a little fun as well. Invitees will include forward-thinking industry leaders -- IT Executives, manufacturers, innovators, consultants, REITs, and owners in the hospitality industry -- who have shown interest and initiative in the development of wireless applications. The Symposium will focus on WiFi technologies designed to support many aspects of hotel operations. Concentrated focus group sessions will center around identifying areas of operations in which WiFi will be most valued by the end consumer. Other areas of emphasis will be the most effective WiFi technologies, minimum product requirements, service standards and customer expectations. The focus groups are key, said Clay Dickinson, EDS Vice President of Global Travel and Hospitality. They give us the opportunity to get a true reading on how the industry sees WiFi and how to maximize its usefulness to improve business performance and ROI for our hospitality customers. This Symposium is designed to let the voice of the customer drive the direction of wireless and mobility computing for the future of the hospitality industry. As the first US company to propose that hotels and resorts utilize high-end 100% wireless solutions for High Speed Internet Access (HSIA) based on the 802.11 platform, StayOnline has been on the leading edge of deploying WiFi solutions within the hospitality industry since 2000. More than 470 hotels, resorts and meeting centers across more than 30 brands in the US and Mexico now offer their guests the StayOnline HSIA solution. StayOnline is recognized for our high performance standards because of our proven, flexible technology and superior customer service, and the industry expects us to take the lead in supporting tomorrows wireless applications, said DiMilia. With this Symposium, we aim to facilitate discussion and interaction on a wide variety of exciting wireless products and concepts. After all, a hotel is a mobile environment. A strong wireless platform is now opening doors for dramatic changes in operational productivity, and is the key to bringing the hotel staff closer to the guest experience. About StayOnline
