 Julie Jackson Appointed Director of Sales and
 Marketing for Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang
 and Golden Sands Resorts

Penang, Malaysia, March 11, 2005 - Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has appointed Julie Jackson Director of Sales & Marketing for Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang and Golden Sands Resorts in Penang, Malaysia.

Jackson assumes the responsibility of promoting and marketing Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort which is undergoing a RM100 million (about US$26.3million) redevelopment and repositioning program. She will also oversee its sister property, Shangri-La's Golden Sands Resort, located next to the Rasa Sayang along the scenic Batu Feringgi Beach.

Marketing of Shangri-La Maldives Resort & Spa (under construction) and then as part of the task forceJackson has been with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts for one year, initially as Director of Sales and on the pre-opening team of Shangri-La's Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. Prior to joining Shangri-La, Jackson spent three years with Starwood Hotels and Resorts, most recently stationed in Hong Kong as Director of Sales and Marketing with the Westin Resort Macau. Jackson also spent seven years with Accor Asia Pacific and prior to her move to the hospitality industry she spent 15 years in international airline sales and marketing.
