Benchmark Appoints Scott Spann General
Manager for The Chattanoogan

THE WOODLANDS (HOUSTON), TEXAS, March 14, 2005 - Benchmark Hospitality International has announced the appointment of Scott Spann as general manager for The Chattanoogan, a 202-guestroom hotel located in the heart of Chattanooga, Tennessee.  Sam Haigh, chief operating officer, made the announcement.

"Scott brings strong leadership skills and extensive business acumen to his new role," stated Mr. Haigh.  "We're thrilled to add him to Benchmark's team of hospitality professionals."

Mr. Spann provides 15 years of experience as a hotelier to his new role at The Chattanoogan.  Most recently he was a partner with Metropolitan Services Group of Scottsdale, Arizona, a healthcare services company that provides hospitality services to healthcare facilities.   Previous to this, he exercised his entrepreneurial talents by founding Tiburon Hospitality Management of Carefree, Arizona, and served as the company's president and CEO until 2003.  Just prior to this experience, Spann was general manager of the Ocean Place Resort & Spa of Long Branch, New Jersey, which he later brought into the Tiburon management portfolio.

Scott Spann has previously served in several positions of increasing responsibility within sales, food & beverage and operations for leading hotel brands in California, Virginia and Texas, including a period as assistant general manger for the Hayes Conference Resort & Spa of San Jose.

While under Spann's leadership, hotels have received numerous awards for service excellence.  He is a graduate of Oklahoma State University.  Mr. Spann and his family have relocated to Chattanooga.
