Appoints Pre-Opening Sales Team |
Schaumburg, IL. (March 30, 2005) -
The Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center, a $225 million
project slated to open in 2006, has announced three new sales
managers. Anthony Abbate has been named Director of Convention
Center Sales, Barry Carlson joins as Director of Hotel Sales, and Abby
Tedell Berg as Senior Account Executive.
As Director of Convention Center Sales, Anthony Abbate will utilize his 22 combined years of hospitality related experience to draw business to the new convention center and adjoining hotel. His most recent position was as Director of Sales for the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau, the sales and marketing arm for McCormick Place and Navy Pier. Abbate, who graduated from Illinois State University with a B.S. in Marketing, has also served as Director of Sales for the Los Angeles CVB and as Senior Sales Director for Stouffer Hotels and Resorts. Barry Carlson, Director of Hotel Sales, brings many years of Marriott sales experience to his new post. Carlson previously held positions as Director of Group Sales at the Chicago Marriott O'Hare, Director of Sales and Marketing at the Courtyard by Marriott Chicago Downtown, and Sales Manager at the JW Marriott Hotel Houston. Carlson, who graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee with a B.S. in Business Administration, most recently served as President for The Union Store, Inc. in Arlington Heights, IL, a promotional products company. As Senior Account Executive Abby Tedell Berg, will handle group sales for the Midwest corporate and association markets. Berg received her B.A. from Michigan State University and her M.B.A. from Northern Illinois University. Her previous positions include Sales Account Manager at the Chicago Marriott Northwest and Account Executive with Marriott Market Sales. |
