| CHICAGO, March 24, 2005 - The new Hilton Garden Inn Chicago/Midway
Airport officially opened its doors to the public today. Owned by
the Weglarz Company and managed by White Lodging Services, the Hilton Garden
Inn is conveniently located in the Midway Hotel Center, at 6530 S. Cicero
Avenue, just 2 blocks south of Midway Airport.
The new Hilton Garden Inn is one of seven total hotels developed in the Midway Hotel Center campus which includes Holiday Inn Select, Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Hampton Inn(R), Sleep Inn, Courtyard by Marriott and Fairfield Inn by Marriott. Restaurants include Dempsey's Irish-American Grill and TGI Friday's. All properties in the Midway Hotel Center are owned by the Chicago-based Weglarz Co. "We are truly excited to be opening a Hilton Garden Inn at Midway, to offer travelers coming through Chicago's Midway Airport an additional Hilton product in the Midway Hotel Center," said Regional Vice President, Michael Williams. "Our hats are off to the Hilton design team for giving us a contemporary, guest focused design that, coupled with the service that White Lodging is known for in all brands we manage, will completely satisfy our guests." The Hilton Garden Inn will feature 174 guest rooms, including six suites. All guestrooms will offer a spacious work area with an oversized work desk, telephones with voicemail and data ports, flat screen televisions, microwave, refrigerator, coffeemaker and complimentary high speed Internet access. The hotel's restaurant, The Great American Grill, will serve breakfast and dinner daily plus provide catering services for meetings and events. The restaurant also features data ports at many tables along with wireless internet capabilities in both the restaurant and lobby lounge areas. The hotel will feature 2,300 square feet of flexible meeting space, a 24-hour business center, complimentary 24-hour signature "Red Trolley" service to Chicago's Midway Airport and Orange Line "El" Train Station, plus indoor pool, whirlpool, fitness center, and a 24-hour Pavilion Pantry convenience mart. The location of the new Hilton Garden Inn Chicago/Midway Airport places it just 15 minutes from McCormick Place and all of downtown Chicago attractions including shopping on the Magnificent Mile, great restaurants, The Field Museum, Navy Pier, United Center and U.S. Cellular Field. Nearby companies and attractions include Chicago Motor Speedway, Cintas, Clorox, and Insure One. |
