Hotel Management Event in Berlin |
takes latest hotel management workshop overseas; First European event to be held on March 15, 2005 CHICAGO March 3, 2005 When the founder and producer of the acclaimed International Hotel Conference in Monte Carlo launches a new industry event, you can bet that it will spark interest and attract an impressive line-up of high profile attendees. Thats what happened last year when the IHCs Morris E. Lasky launched a new series of comprehensive, one-day hotel management workshops titled: Essentials Of Hotel Management. This month Lasky, who also serves as president and CEO of Chicago-based Lodging Unlimited Inc., will bring his hotel management, consulting and marketing-services expertise to the European hotel community by holding the Essentials workshop on March 15th at the Schweizerhof Berlin Dorint Sofitel. As the International Hotel Conference (scheduled for Sept. 11-13, 2005, at the Le Meridien Beach Plaza hotel in Monte Carlo) continues to grow and Lodging Unlimited becomes more involved in international hotel projects, we decided to expand all of our activities throughout Europeincluding the Essentials workshops, Lasky said. Based on rave reviews the program received in the U.S., we felt it was only appropriate to share this educational hotel-management series with the international hospitality market. The Essentials of Hotel Ownership workshop provides both new hoteliers (who need tips on how to succeed in the European hotel market) and seasoned veterans (who might need a refresher course) with a perfect opportunity to learn from an industry legend. During Hotel 101, Lasky will share management techniques and case studies on how to avoid the many costly mistakes of owning and operating hotels, including a review of branding, operational reporting and marketing. Of particular interest to European hoteliers, Lasky said, is the issue of branding. In the United States, 80 percent of hotels are brand-affiliated, whereas in Europe that figure is approximately 20 percent. With many hotel brands already established in the European market, that number is expected to grow. Program information The workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, March 15,
2005, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Davos Room at the Schweizerhof Berlin
Dorint Sofitel, Budapester Str. 25, D-10787 Berlin (across the street from
the InterContinental Hotel).
There seems to be a real demand for continuing education in the management and ownership arena, Lasky said. This highly informative workshop is designed to give hotel owners and their partners insight on the day-to-day operations including management, marketing, and franchising to ensure greater profitability. A luncheon buffet is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., and the program and question-and-answer session will follow from 12:30 p.m.-2 p.m. For information on attending the Essentials of Hotel Management event, please contact Lasky at +1 312-595-1390 or e-mail him at [email protected].
