Hong Kong, (January 10, 2005) -- Clemens Hoerth was recently
appointed as the new General Manager of Mandarin Oriental Hotel
Majapahit, Surabaya.
He has been working with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group since 1997,
where he started his career with Mandarin Oriental, Manila, after which
he joined The Oriental, Singapore in the capacity as Resident Manager
in April 2000.
In his previous assignment, Clemens Hoerth was responsible for all
operational departments in the Hotel. During his 4 years tenure, the
Hotel was internationally recognized with the following awards and
accolades:
-Travel & Leisure USA - "The Greatest Hotels in the World 2004"
-Departures USA - Readers' Favorites - "Best Hotels in Asia - 2nd in
Singapore"
-Conde Nast Traveler USA - "The Gold List"
-Zagat Survey - Top International Hotels, Resorts & Spas - "Best in
Country" & "Top 100 Hotels"
A native of Freiburg, Germany, Hoerth began his extensive hotel career
with Kempinski Hotels & Resorts where he worked in executive
positions in Human Resources & Rooms Division in various
properties. The last posting with the Group was as Executive Assistant
Manager at the legendary Ciragan Palace Hotel KempinskiIstanbul,
Turkey. Prior to joining the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Hoerth
worked for Dusit Hotels & Resorts in Manila, Philippines.
