NIAGARA FALLS, Ontario - Jan. 18, 2005 - Ripley Entertainment and Great
Wolf Resorts Inc. marked Tuesday an on-time construction schedule for the
newest and largest family resort destination in the northeast. The 406
room Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls, Canada is scheduled to open in
Spring 2006.
The resort, part of a $200 million family entertainment destination, is situated on a 25-acre site which will also include the world-class Ripley's Aquarium of Canada, set to open in 2007. "Ripley Entertainment along with Great Wolf Resorts is dedicated to giving families top notch accommodations and attractions when they visit Niagara Falls," said Bob Masterson, president of Ripley Entertainment, which owns the property. Great Wolf Lodge - Niagara Falls will be home to a spectacular 94,000 square-foot indoor entertainment area, featuring a grand-scale waterpark, 250-seat casual, themed family restaurant and bar, Elements - An Aveda(R) Concept Spa, 6,500 square feet of meeting and banquet space, 7,000 square-foot arcade, 600 square-foot confectionery cafe, 5,000 square-foot gift emporium, and fitness center. Guests entering the four-story, log-sided resort next year will be greeted by professional staff in a three-story Grand Lobby, complete with a fieldstone fireplace. The 84 degree F, indoor waterpark will be one of North America's largest. Attractions include a gigantic wave pool; 10 waterslides, including two tube slides, four kiddie slides, three body slides and a water roller coaster; four pools, including an indoor recreation pool, outdoor activity pool, two-sided zero-depth entry children's pool and a lazy river; family and adult whirlpools; and an interactive treehouse waterfort. More than a million gallons of water will be filtered through the waterpark each hour. Great Wolf Lodge - Niagara Falls, is licensed to and being developed by Ripley Entertainment, a Jim Pattison Company. The family entertainment destination is currently Canada's largest family resort construction project.
