Winnipeg Airport; Completes $4 million Renovation
of the Former Radisson Suites
|WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Canada - Feb. 14, 2005 -- Continuing its expansion
into Canada, Hilton Hotels Corporation today announced the opening of the
new Hilton Suites Winnipeg Airport, a 160-room property including 149 suites
and 11 oversized poolside rooms, which has undergone a $4 million renovation
to become a Hilton. Located next to Winnipeg International Airport, the
Hilton Suites Winnipeg Airport hotel is close to business, shopping and
attractions, and is 12 minutes from downtown.
The ground-up renovation of the property has upgraded all guestrooms and public spaces to meet Hilton standards. The warm, contemporary interior has been thoughtfully re-designed to incorporate classic appeal with modern touches. The main restaurant, Bistro 1800, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, offering a variety of cuisines. The Bistro Lounge boasts a cozy atmosphere, widescreen television and a variety of snack foods and beverages, as well as the full restaurant menu.
Standard amenities in all of the 149 spacious suites include a pull-out sofa, a large work desk, high-speed internet, voicemail, wet bar, coffeemaker, refrigerator, microwave, iron/ironing board and in-room movies. There are also 11 oversized non-suite poolside rooms.
For recreation and relaxation, the hotel offers an indoor pool, outdoor pool, whirlpool, sauna and a fitness center. Business travelers will be able to take full advantage of an all-new business center due for completion later this year. The hotel offers a 24-hour complimentary shuttle to and from the airport. For meetings and events, guests can take advantage of 8,000 square feet of reconfigurable meeting space, including a ballroom that seats 400 people and has the flexibility to accommodate vehicles.
