|Vancouver, B.C. - February 25, 2005 - Pan Pacific Hotels and
Resorts has teamed up once again with Intrawest Corporation to introduce
a new, luxury property to Whistler, British Columbia. Completion of the
new Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre is slated for June 15, 2005.
Located in the heart of Whistler Village, only steps from the existing Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside, this new 83-room boutique property is an enhancement to the inventory of 121 deluxe rooms and suites Pan Pacific already manages in North America's number one playground.
"Because Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside has demonstrated stellar financial performance over its seven year history, Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts has been selected as the best possible management partner for Intrawest's latest venture," comments Pan Pacific Senior Vice President and Director Steve Halliday.
Under the guidance of Howard Bingham Hill Architects and Santa Monica based interior designers Hirsch Bedner & Associates, Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre has been thoughtfully and carefully designed to showcase its prominent gateway location. The hotel, valued at $54 million CDN, comprises larger suites and clever design features to provide more flexible, efficient use of space such as foldaway dining tables and breakfast bars, built-in storage units, spacious bathrooms and functional kitchen designs.
The suites range in size between 407 and 1,680 square feet. Architectural details include stepped architecture that allows for unique suite designs and a variety of balcony sizes. Some suites have vaulted ceilings, while all suites contain oversized windows, maximizing view opportunities to the surrounding mountains and village.
Amenities in the luxury hotel include a 25 yard lap pool and two hot tubs, spa and treatment rooms, sauna, fitness rooms, private landscape areas, outdoor BBQ area, room service, meeting rooms, business centre and ski storage at mountain base.
Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre is a unique resort in Whistler and is the only hotel offering 24-hour Concierge Plus Service which includes daily complimentary breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres to guests staying in the hotel.
Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts currently encompasses 25 hotels (18 managed properties and 7 marketing affiliates) in 11 countries throughout Asia, the Pacific and North America.
