New York, NY - November 16, 2004 --- Teledex announced today at the 2004 International Hotel/Motel and Restaurant Show that its innovative ExpressNet AirLink high-speed Internet access (HSIA) solution is being installed at the luxurious Sheraton World Resort in Orlando, Florida.  ExpressNet AirLink will deliver simultaneous wireless and wired high-speed Internet access to over 1,100 guestrooms at this sprawling resort property, as well as meeting rooms and common areas. ExpressNet AirLink wireless access points and wireless bridges are being installed to the bottom of  Teledex guestroom phones throughout the property to deploy both and wired high speed access.

Boasting twenty-eight acres of lush tropical paradise, the Sheraton World Resort Orlando is located next to SeaWorld®, and is just minutes away from Walt Disney World®, Universal Orlando®, shopping, restaurants, golf courses, and Orlando International Airport.

More About What Makes ExpressNet AirLink Unique.

Utilizing existing phone wiring (Cat3) infrastructure and VDSL (very-high-bit-rate digital subscriber line) transport technology, ExpressNet AirLink allows any lodging property to simultaneously deploy both wireless and wired HSIA in a very cost-effective manner. The innovative, tri-mode AirLink ExpressPort can function in a combination of three different configurations: 1) as an ultra-fast 802.11g wireless access point, delivering 54 Mbps of bandwidth; 2) as a wireless Ethernet client (also referred to as a wireless "bridge"), which provides a convenient plug-in connection to a wireless network for users who are not wireless-enabled; and 3) a hard-wired VDSL converter that delivers blazing connection speeds over conventional telephone wiring.

The transport technology to the AirLink wireless access points is VDSL, which delivers a tested consistent throughput of over 10 Mbps over existing Cat3 phone wiring, and in many common operating conditions is quite capable of sustaining throughputs of 15 to 20 Mbps. These blazing speeds are more than sufficient to deliver and manage the broadband-dependent content and services popular today with the hospitality industry, while helping to keep infrastructure costs under control.

The AirLink ExpressPort attaches neatly to the underside of virtually all Teledex hotel telephones, helping to reduce guestroom clutter by eliminating the need for additional hardware on the desktop, or installed on the wall. The company's unique, single-cable-to-the-phone connection further promotes clean, simplified installations, eliminating the tangled wire mess that is commonplace with many guestroom HSIA installations.
