Private Residence Clubs in Tremblant, Quebec,
and Sandestin, Florida
|VANCOUVER, Nov. 9, 2004 - Storied Places®,
a division of Intrawest, will build two new Storied Places® communities
in Tremblant, Quebec, and Sandestin, Florida, expanding the company's innovative
brand of resort home co-ownership that redefines the Private Residence
Club (PRC) industry in North America.
Storied Places® Tremblant is the first PRC development to be built in Quebec. Storied Places® Sandestin (Inspiration), at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort on Florida's Emerald Coast, is Storied Places® first beach and golf community to be developed in North America. These two new locations join Whistler and Lake Tahoe as home to a Storied Places® community.
Storied Places® is redefining the PRC segment of the real estate industry by offering a sophisticated Chaptered Ownership(TM) model and advantaged access to all the best a resort area has to offer.
"We created Storied Places® to fulfill a need that was not being met by other major players in the Private Residence Club segment," said Michael Coyle, Executive Vice President Intrawest Placemaking. "Everything at Storied Places® is centered around creating a genuine sense of community where owners are recognized by name and where friendships can be rekindled year after year."
The trend towards shared ownership of resort homes - known as fractional real estate - is gaining tremendous momentum throughout North America. According to recent data from Ragatz Associates, there are 151 resorts offering significant fractional opportunities, with 132 in the United States and eight in Canada. The industry is growing 150% per year and is only in its infancy as a trend in second home ownership.
Intrawest is a leader in the PRC industry, introducing in 2002 its first Storied Places® community in Whistler, British Columbia. With two communities now built, two new Storied Places® in development, plus two more proposed for the near future, the company is the North American industry leader in the design, construction and operation of PRC developments.
"In today's often hectic world, Storied Places® communities are a refuge to re-energize and re-connect with family and friends. They foster a sense of belonging we believe people crave, but seldom find with traditional resort accommodations," said Alasdair Douglas, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Storied Places®.
Intrawest's newest Storied Places® communities
The private residences of Storied Places® Tremblant and Storied Places® Sandestin are offered for Chaptered Ownership(TM), Intrawest's proprietary PRC ownership model created after years of research into the co-ownership real estate industry. It was developed in consultation with a PhD mathematician to ensure owners get the maximum amount of access to their homes. There are 10 "Chapters" available per residence and each Chaptered Owner receives a fee simple deeded title offering up to four weeks a year of guaranteed use and unlimited "space available" use. Homes are for the exclusive use of owners, their family and friends, and are not available for rent.
Storied Places® Sandestin is Intrawest's first beach and golf Storied Places® community in North America. The 20 distinct residences range in size from approximately 2,278 to 2,440 square feet. Homes are nestled in the lush fairways of the Rees-Jones-designed Burnt Pine Golf Club and the natural splendor of Choctawhatchee Bay. The Village of Baytowne Wharf is just a 5-minute walk away.
Storied Places® Tremblant, set on a promontory overlooking magnificent Lake Tremblant, offers the rare opportunity to purchase co-ownership of one of 23 exquisitely designed ski-in/ski-out resort townhomes. The 23 four-bedroom private residences are situated in a 19-acre enclave surrounded by mature forest, a short walk from the heart of Mont Tremblant village.
Storied Service(TM) and Advantaged Access define a Storied Places® community
Everything at Storied Places® Tremblant and Storied Places® Sandestin has been carefully designed around the needs of owners. A hallmark of this unparalleled lifestyle is Storied Service(TM), where every detail of each owner's visit is personally handled before, during and after their stay. Every Storied Places® community has a Resident Innkeeper and a handpicked team of assistants available to cater to the needs of owners and oversee all aspects of daily operations in the community. The resident staff are supported by Storied Places OnCall(TM), a high-touch, high-tech communications hub that provides a 1-800 call center and on-line travel counselors to ensure everything is taken care of - from travel and baggage delivery to accessing "the best tables" or tee times.
Extensive privileges and benefits accompany ownership. Residents also receive advantaged access to all the activities and amenities offered at resort destinations, including exclusive access to an Owners' Lodge or Clubhouse with a pool, hot tub, fitness room, games, library and more.
