has Grown from One Sandals Resort in Montego Bay,
Jamaica to 18 Resorts on Five Islands
|MIAMI, FLORIDA, (November 4, 2004) – It’s 1981. Chairman and
Founder of Sandals and Beaches Resorts, Gordon “Butch” Stewart set out
to change the face of the all-inclusive genre by creating a winning formula
– finding out what people want, giving it to them, and, in doing so, exceeding
their expectations. Fast-forward 25 years. His empire has grown
from one Sandals Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica to 18 resorts on five islands.
The company enjoys year-round occupancy levels of more than 85 percent
and an aggressive expansion effort is underway.
Stewart is not satisfied and he has been re-imagining his brands. Beginning January 2005, both the Sandals and Beaches brands will launch initiatives that include differentiating the properties within the brands themselves and introducing new amenities and services – such as Butler Service – influencing the next generation of savvy travelers to consider the premium all-inclusive experience when making their vacation plans.
The first endeavor begins with distinguishing the Sandals and Beaches Brands into two collections – The Classic Collection and the Signature Collection. The Classic Collection characterizes everything that loyal guests have come to love about Sandals and Beaches, including elegantly appointed rooms and suites, exceptional service and hospitality, world-class gourmet dining, premium brand drinks, legendary Kids Kamps, and unlimited use of every land and water sport imaginable.
"Innovation is how we intend to keep our place as the industry's all-inclusive leader," said Gordon “Butch” Stewart, chairman of Sandals and Beaches Resorts. "A generation of travelers have come to know and expect the amenities Sandals introduced to the all-inclusive arena more than two decades ago - such as four-poster beds, premium liquor, swim-up pool bars and hair dryers in the room - as standard operating procedure. Now we take the long view again, to consider the possibilities and the opportunities to keep our Sandals and Beaches brands at the forefront for new generations to enjoy."
The Classic Collection consists of the following resorts:
After a day of enjoying the Caribbean sun, surf and host of all-inclusive activities, guests can savor Five Star Diamond caliber cuisine with white-glove service at the resort’s signature restaurant. Throughout the evening, guests can dance to the local entertainment, stroll the beach and cap off the perfect day with treats offered at the Signature Late Night Buffet available twice per week from 11:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m. These themed evenings include a Tropical Experience featuring a variety of fruits, vegetables, meats, desserts and a specialty coffee station. The Seafood & Martini night is a seafood lover’s dream come true featuring a raw bar and astonishing array of all the favorites – lobster, sushi sashimi, smoked fish and shellfish, and, of course, a variety of top-shelf martinis. Once guests return to their rooms, they will find that turn-down service has been there and left their mark with and array of evening indulgences.
The Signature Collection is comprised of the following resorts:
Sandals Resorts is the largest operator of luxury, ultra-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean. Sandals has a total of 12 couples-only properties, including seven in Jamaica, three in St. Lucia, one in Antigua and one in Nassau, Bahamas. Opening soon will be the newly refurbished Sandals Grande Ocho Rios Beach & Villa Resort and brand new Sandals Whitehouse European Village & Spa. Sandals Resorts continues to make couples’ Caribbean holidays memorable by offering amenities and programs of superior value and service.
Beaches Resorts, created by Sandals Resorts in 1997, is the ultimate family getaway, where parents can get a vacation from their kids and kids get a vacation of their own. Here the best of everything is included in one simple price -- gourmet meals, anytime snacks and premium brand drinks, land and watersports, luxurious accommodations, and even tipping. Four locations, on the Caribbean's best beaches in Jamaica, Turks and Caicos and soon-to-be St. Lucia, include Kids Kamps, signature Xbox Game Oasis video games centers, water theme parks and expert childcare provided by Beaches’ own Ultra Nannies.
