.
NEW YORK, October 25, 2004 After finalizing third quarter results,
Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) reported a 32% increase in revenue
YTD over the same period last year. The first three quarters of 2004
saw an increasing trend of elite guests booking suites and other high-category
products, which led to a 6% increase in SLHs global ADR. Also contributing
to the growth in revenue for this period was a 24% increase in total room
nights over the same period last year. SLH continues to benefit from
the desire of elite guests to stay at the most luxurious properties around
the world, which offer superb amenities and unmatched personal service.
The luxury brand, which has over 300 member hotels in 50 countries around the globe, is looking to surpass $60 million in reservation revenue for the year 2004. We are encouraged by our operating results thus far in 2004 as we believe they represent not only a rebound in the travel industry as a whole, but also discerning travelers recognition of our niche offerings and unparalleled service, commented Ed Donaldson, VP of Marketing, The Americas. Further emphasizing SLH guests craving for unique experiences and personalized service is the success of The Club, Small Luxury Hotels latest effort to identify guest preferences and special needs and to ensure those needs are met at every SLH property around the world. Since its launch in May, The Club has registered 11,000 members and now represents 20% of all internet bookings. By the end of the year, The Club is projected to be a multi-million dollar program. The Club of Small Luxury Hotels of the World is a complimentary service for frequent travelers that guarantees members exclusive offers, automatic upgrades and benefits that range from a free champagne breakfast to a tutored wine tasting or luxury picnic on a private beach. The program is designed to alert hoteliers to the guests special hospitality preferences prior to arrival. Guests wishing to become a member of The Club can register at www.clubslh.com. Guest preferences will be logged at the guests discretion and passed discreetly to hotels as the guest travels around the world.
