Michael J. Glick Appointed General Manager of the
Publick House Historic Inn and Country Motor Lodge, Sturbridge, Massachusetts
.
STURBRIDGE, MA - November 2006 - The Publick House has announced Michael J. Glick as General Manager of the Publick House Historic Inn and Country Motor Lodge.  Mr.  Glick assumed his new role on October 19, 2004, just in time for Harvest Festival weekend.

Mr. Glick graduated from Johnson & Wales with a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Business.  He started his hospitality career at the Omni Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island.  Mr. Glick moved on to Le Meridien Hotel, where he served as Food & Beverage Cost Controller and Assistant Food & Beverage Director for Café Fleuri.

Mr. Glick served the Colonnade Hotel in Boston for 2 years, as General Manager of Brasserie Jo Restaurant and then Director of Food & Beverage for all hotel operations.  Of local interest, Mr. Glick and his family reside in North Grafton, MA.   When asked about his new position, Mr. Glick said, I'm very excited about being involved with bringing The Publick House back to it's original charm and magnificence.  Sturbridge is a community with so much history and allure, which makes this opportunity even more thrilling.

Michael Harrington, the owners representative for the Publick House, said about Mr. Glicks appointment, Having been familiar with the quality of food and service at both Le Meridien and Colonnade Hotels over a number of years, I am delighted that Michael has agreed to join the staff at the Publick House as General Manager.  His familiarity with the expectations and standards of two quality hospitality properties should strongly complement our ongoing efforts to restore the Publick House to its status as a unique venue for state of the art dining and function activity throughout the New England area.

Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the Publick House was established on the Sturbridge Common in 1771 by Colonel Ebenezer Crafts, who led the local militia against the British at the Battle of Lexington and Concord when the Revolutionary War began.  A continuing program of preservation and renovation now means that the Publick House retains its colonial atmosphere while offering contemporary conveniences.
